As we wrap up another busy month, we just wanted to say thank you to all our customers, clients and supporters

It’s been a month full of:
Commercial call-outs
Training and development
Industry events
Preventative work
Plenty of unexpected jobs along the way!

No two days are ever the same in pest control, but one thing that stays consistent is the effort the team puts into every job.

Proud of this hard-working crew and the standards we continue to work towards every day

HOT HOT HOT

Well... the weather has finally caught up!

Bright sunshine, soaring temperatures, and everyone suddenly remembering where they left the fan last year…

But while we’re enjoying the warmer weather, the pests are reacting to it too

Higher temperatures usually mean:
Increased insect activity
More flies around homes and businesses
More wasps and bee activity
Rodents searching for water sources

Now’s the time to stay on top of things before summer activity really kicks in.

For once, it looks like the sunshine might actually be staying.

Will the weather make up its mind this bank holiday?!

One minute it’s warm and sunny enough for sunglasses… the next it’s pouring rain and even hailstones and the winter coat is back out again!

The pests are just as confused as we are at the moment. Insect activity is trying to pick up, but we’re still seeing plenty of rodent activity too.

With the bank holiday weekend coming up, we’re hoping the sunshine finally decides to stick around!

Whatever the weather, have a lovely long weekend, everyone!

It really is the little things 💚

One of our regular customers always sends one of these lovely cards in with her payment, and honestly, it never goes unnoticed.

Running a business can be busy and stressful at times, so small gestures like this genuinely mean a lot to the team.

We really do appreciate every customer who supports us, recommends us, or simply takes the time to say thank you.

A little bit of nature this week 🐝

Despite how dramatic it can look, swarming bees are often much calmer than people think, as they’re focused on protecting their queen.

Swarming is a natural part of the honey bee life cycle and usually happens during spring and early summer when colonies become too large and part of the hive moves on to find a new home.

At MP Environmental, we never kill bees. They’re incredibly important pollinators and play a huge role in our environment and food production.

(According to Michelle, they’re also “very cute” 😄)

If you ever come across a swarm, the best thing to do is:
Keep a safe distance
Don’t disturb them
Contact a local beekeeper for advice or relocation support

A day in the life…

No two days are ever the same in pest control.

One minute it’s a routine check, the next it’s investigating a noise in a loft, checking traps, or advising a customer on how to prevent an issue.

We cover everything from homes to pubs, restaurants, schools, and more, and every job is different.

It’s not always glamorous… but it’s always interesting 😄

🚫 Pest Myth Busted 🚫

“If I haven’t seen a pest, I don’t have a problem.”

Not quite…

Many pests are nocturnal and very good at hiding, meaning they can be active for weeks (sometimes longer) before being noticed.

By the time you see something, there’s often already been activity behind the scenes.

Common hidden signs include:
• Droppings
• Scratching sounds at night
• Gnaw marks
• Unusual smells

It’s not always what you see; it’s what you don’t see

Most people say the loft… but that’s not always the case.

We often find activity in:
• Behind kitchen appliances
• Under floorboards
• Inside wall cavities
• Garages and sheds

It’s usually the places you don’t check very often

Michelle couldn’t let Nick have all the fun this week! 😄

Michelle has been away attending the Volunteers Forum 2026 as part of the EDI Committee, and Nick will definitely agree that her hotel was much nicer than his! 😄

It’s a great opportunity to be involved in conversations that help shape the industry and make sure standards continue to improve for everyone.
