Good evening everyone,
Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the little rant, but I feel this is something that needs to be said.
Recently, I've had an increasing number of customers cancelling at short notice, skipping cleans, or asking to miss appointments for reasons that could often have been communicated much earlier. Whether it's because you're away, have a new puppy, or simply don't need the clean that month, last-minute cancellations have become a real issue.
For many people it's "just a window clean," but for me it's my livelihood. Every cancelled job means lost income that I can't replace at such short notice, and it has a genuine impact on both my business and my family.
One comment I occasionally receive is, "You only text the day before." That's true—I send a courtesy reminder the evening before as good customer service. However, everyone knows they're on a regular 5–6 week schedule, so if you already know you won't be available or want to skip a clean, I'd really appreciate as much notice as possible. A quick message makes a huge difference.
I've always tried to offer the kind of service I'd want myself: reliable visits, good communication, fair pricing, and work completed to a high standard. I genuinely care about looking after my customers, and I hope that same consideration can be shown in return.
I'd much rather avoid introducing cancellation policies or increasing prices to recover lost income, but if the current trend continues I may have to make changes to protect the business.
Thank you to the vast majority of my customers who are fantastic, supportive, and reliable—you really are appreciated more than you know.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and thank you for supporting a small local business.
