One of the things I promised myself when I started Rhi’s Pixie Dusters was that no matter how busy life became, I’d always make time for the moments that matter most. ❤️

Today was one of those days.

With the six-week holidays being one of our busiest periods, I kept today free to spend some quality time with Elijah. We headed to Wheelock Farm, enjoyed seeing all the animals, had lots of laughs together and even my mum or mama to Elijah, came along for part of the day. 🥰

Then it was home, a quick change, a couple of quotes to complete, and back out this evening for our commercial cleaning contracts.

Running a business isn’t always 9–5. Some days start with family adventures and finish with mops, cloths and late-night cleans. It’s a balancing act, but it’s one I’m incredibly grateful for.

Making memories by day… keeping our clients’ businesses sparkling by night. ✨

No rest for the wicked… and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🧚🖤

Thank you to every one of our clients for supporting our family business and allowing us to create days like these. It really does mean more than you know. 💙

Some jobs simply can’t be cleaned with a bottle of bleach and good intentions.

Today, we were trusted to carry out a specialist biohazard clean following a medical incident.

We wanted to share this—not to showcase the job itself, but to raise awareness of why situations like these should always be dealt with correctly.

When bodily fluids are involved, the risks aren’t always visible. Cleaning safely requires the correct PPE, specialist products, professional equipment and, most importantly, the knowledge, training and correct procedures to carry out the work safely for everyone involved.

Out of respect for our client’s privacy, we won’t be sharing photographs from inside the property. Protecting our clients’ dignity will always come before creating content.

After 10 hours of combined work, the property was safely cleaned, decontaminated and restored, giving our client and his family one less thing to worry about during an already difficult time.

Knowing our client’s son can now breathe a little easier, with the property professionally decontaminated while his dad receives the care he needs and continues his recovery, is exactly why we do what we do.

We’ll certainly sleep well tonight, but knowing we’ve helped take one worry away from a family during such a difficult time has made every minute of hard work worthwhile.

At Rhi’s Pixie Dusters, we believe specialist cleaning is about far more than making a home look clean. It’s about reducing risk, protecting people’s health, following the correct decontamination procedures and giving our clients confidence that their home has been made safe again.

If this post helps even one person understand why professional biohazard cleaning should always be carried out by trained and properly equipped professionals, then it’s achieved exactly what we hoped.

❤️ From all of us at Rhi’s Pixie Dusters, we wish our client a smooth and speedy recovery.

✨ It’s often the areas you never see that make the biggest difference.

From hidden sink wastes and traps to toilet cisterns, these are the places where grease, soap residue, limescale and debris can quietly build up over time.

A thorough deep clean isn’t just about what you can see, it’s about giving every part of your home the attention it deserves.

Because at Rhi’s Pixie Dusters, it’s the little details that make the biggest difference. 🧚✨

One of those days that perfectly sums up why no two days are ever the same… ☀️🚜🐑❤️

Yesterday, Jack spent the day providing subcontracting work for one of our wonderful clients, Darren.

We actually look after the on-site Airbnb, along with the shower and toilet facilities used by all of the caravan and canal boat visitors. Darren has been struggling for staff recently, so I offered (with Jack’s very happy agreement! 😂) to lend him out for as long as they need the assistance.

Truth be told, Jack is one of those frustratingly talented people who can turn his hand to absolutely anything. Show him how to do something once and he’s away! Every job he’s ever had, managers have always loved him because he’s reliable, consistent, hardworking and genuinely takes pride in whatever he’s doing… although I still maintain singing isn’t one of his talents! 🎤🤣

So yesterday he was hedge cutting, helping prepare bonfires ready for a charity BBQ at the marina, fuelling boats, carrying out general maintenance and generally keeping everything running smoothly. I even flew up at lunchtime to make sure he was fuelled up! 🍔

I think Darren’s becoming a little too attached though… he even joked about keeping Jack for himself! 🫣😂 I think he might have to fight me for him first! Although… prepare yourself, Jack… me on the nights and Darren on the days! 🤣

Meanwhile, I’ve had one of the busiest weeks we’ve had in a long time. Between completing the after-build and deep clean at the private school, keeping on top of our regular clients, fitting in extra deep cleans and end of tenancy cleans, plus preparing and sending 10 quotes this week alone (which I’m incredibly grateful to say have all been accepted!), it’s certainly been full on.

We’ve also advertised for new team members and increased another member of staff to full-time, which is really exciting. Watching this little business continue to grow is something I’ll never take for granted.

On the way home, we were even treated to a proper countryside traffic jam as a flock of sheep crossed the road. 🐑 Definitely not something you see every day!

Then we rounded everything off with a trip to the park with Elijah and the whole school to celebrate the last day of term. Seeing all the children laughing, playing and making memories together in the sunshine was the perfect way to finish the day. The Year 6 children even had confetti cannons to celebrate the end of their primary school journey, which was such a lovely moment to witness. ❤️

A huge good luck to every one of them as they head off on their next adventure at high school. Wishing you all the very best for this exciting new chapter! 🎉

Now it’s time for a slightly slower weekend to recharge before what is shaping up to be an incredibly busy six weeks ahead. There’ll be plenty of amazing jobs, looking after our wonderful regular clients, welcoming new ones, juggling childcare, family days out and, hopefully, squeezing in a little time to make memories of our own along the way.

Life is busy… but I genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

Jack has been hard at work this week, taking on an amazing variety of jobs across Maccleafield and surrounding area’s! 💪✨

One of the things we’re most proud of at Rhi’s Pixie Dusters is being a true one-stop shop for our clients, offering such a wide range of professional cleaning services all under one roof.

Every service we provide is carried out with the same high standards, attention to detail, care and pride, regardless of the size or nature of the job.

Whether it’s transforming a patio or driveway, bringing carpets and ovens back to life, freshening up wheelie bins, carrying out deep cleans or end of tenancy cleans, or providing our specialist cleaning services to support families through sensitive and difficult circumstances, our goal is always the same… to help in any way we can.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a client’s smile at the end of a job, knowing we’ve taken even a small amount of stress or pressure off their shoulders. That’s exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

Here’s to many more happy clients and many more transformations!

Have a beautiful weekend, everyone. 🧚🏼‍♀️🫶🏼

☀️ The heat definitely isn’t making these jobs any easier, but the results make it all worthwhile!

Yesterday Jack transformed this patio and pathway, removing months (and in some places years!) of moss, algae and built-up grime. Not only does it look so much brighter, but it’s now a much safer surface for our client to walk on too. 💦

It’s amazing what a professional exterior clean can do without replacing a single slab.

Well done, Jack! 👏🧚🏼‍♀️

Some days remind you just how much work goes on behind the scenes… 💜

Today the three of us completed a 24-hour builders deep clean at part of a private school that we’re incredibly excited to be looking after from September.

When people hear “cleaning”, they often picture a quick wipe over. Today was anything but that.

Protective films had to be peeled from cupboards and kickboards, silicone carefully removed from surfaces, builders’ dust settled into every corner and every room needed patience before it could even begin to sparkle.

(Swipe to the bin… that builders’ dust gets everywhere! 🤣)

We honestly worked flat out from 9am until well into the evening. There wasn’t even time for a proper break… or even a wee! 😂

I wish I’d worn a GoPro today because I’d have loved to show you what a real day in our world looks like. The teamwork, the problem solving, the laughs, the exhaustion and seeing everything come together.

Then, because apparently the day wasn’t exciting enough…

Driving home feeling proud of ourselves, a wasp flew into my car and stung me right in the middle of my back! 🐝

I screamed…

Jess screamed…

We pulled over…

Jess had to pull the wasp out while I danced around at the side of the road looking completely ridiculous! 🤣

Thankfully our first aid kit came to the rescue (one thing we’re never without), and after an instant ice pack we were back on the road.

I finally got home just in time to say goodnight to Elijah before jumping in the shower, ordering a takeaway (there was absolutely no chance I was cooking tonight! 😅), replying to what felt like hundreds of messages and emails, and I’ve only just stopped.

Days like today are hard.

But they’re also the days that make me incredibly proud.

Proud of the standards we set.

Proud of our team.

Proud that from September we’ll be trusted to help keep this school looking its very best.

Thank you to Jess and Jack today. We gave absolutely everything. 💜✨

And if today taught me anything… it’s that I really need to buy a GoPro! 😂

This week has honestly been one of those weeks I’ll remember for a very long time. ❤️

My uncle Tony came to stay with us from London at the beginning of the week, and seeing how much Elijah absolutely adores him has been so lovely. We spent the week fitting in family meals, catch-ups and making memories before he headed home today.

Then came our little birthday weekend away. ❤️

As Jack’s birthday is 20th June and mine is 3rd July, we’d booked ourselves a little treat months ago. It was going to be our very first full weekend away together in a B&B and, after six and a half years, our first ever full weekend away without Elijah.

We started the journey with a little shopping trip to Trafford Centre (our second home 🤣), followed by Costco to stock up on snacks before making the 3+ hour drive to County Durham.

On the way we realised we were driving past one of my closest friends, so after a very quick FaceTime call of “PINT?” 🤣 we made an unexpected little detour to surprise her and her husband before carrying on. Those spontaneous moments are often my favourite.

The drive itself was absolutely stunning. Beautiful countryside, lovely little villages and views for miles. By the time we arrived it was around 7pm and, after travelling all day in the middle of a 33°C heatwave, we were both an absolute sweaty mess! 🥵

The Airbnb itself was beautiful. Tiny, cosy and exactly our kind of place. And yes… owning a specialist cleaning company means I immediately start inspecting everything! 😂 Honestly, I struggled to find anything to pick at other than one slightly smeary chrome light switch and a cobweb that was probably made after the cleaner had left. That’s always a very good sign! The outside space just needed a little tidy and some TLC, but overall it really was lovely.

We made some noodles, Jack washed the pans, then went upstairs to run the gorgeous copper bath… only to come back down a minute later saying there was no hot water.

Surely not…

We tried every tap, every sink and the bath again, but nothing.

The owner replied almost immediately despite being away herself, talked us through everything she could remotely, then sent someone over to investigate. Sadly, after waiting and hoping, we found out the boiler had failed and couldn’t be repaired during our stay.

She was absolutely brilliant throughout and very kindly offered us a full refund if we chose to leave the following morning.

It was such a difficult decision.

After travelling over three hours in that heat, we desperately needed showers. We’d specifically booked somewhere with both a beautiful bath and private spa facilities, but the spa rules required everyone to shower before using it, which of course we couldn’t do. Without hot water for the whole weekend, we realised we’d essentially just be paying to sleep there, and as heartbreaking as it was, we decided it was best to head home.

But here’s the thing…

We didn’t let it ruin our weekend.

Instead, we kept our plans, visited High Force Waterfall, took the scenic route home through some beautiful little towns, enjoyed one of the best Hickory’s restaurants we’ve ever visited, laughed loads, talked loads and simply enjoyed being together.

The unexpected bonus? Because we came home early, we got one more evening with my uncle before he returned to London today. We all went to the pub together, spent another evening chatting, watched the England match and made even more memories.

Today we took Uncle Tony to the train station.

Watching Elijah burst into tears as the train pulled away absolutely broke my heart. He loves his family so deeply and never wants them to leave. We just reminded him that the lovely thing about saying goodbye is that it means we’ll get to say hello again soon… and I have a feeling we’ll be making a trip to London during the school holidays. ❤️

Looking back, yes, it’s a shame we drove a 6½-hour round trip to eat noodles, sleep for one night and come home. 🤣

But do you know what?

I don’t think that’s what I’ll remember.

I’ll remember the laughs.

The scenery.

The surprise pub stop.

The peaceful walk.

The family time.

The extra evening we unexpectedly got together.

Sometimes life doesn’t go to plan, but somehow it works out exactly as it should.

What a wonderful week it’s been. ☀️❤️

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week too, and here’s to making the most of the rest of the summer. ☀️
