A Star Care Agency is recruiting a Deputy Manager on behalf of a client, supporting adults with enduring mental health needs in 24-hour supported accommodation across two Kingston services. You will be employed directly by our client.

You will support the Service Manager with daily operations and deputise in their absence, helping staff deliver person-centred support that builds independence.

The role includes:
• Staff supervision, rotas, induction and training.
• Recovery-focused support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding.
• Partnership work with families, clinicians, housing and substance misuse services.
• Referrals, occupancy, housing management and health and safety.
• Budget monitoring, accurate records and outcome reporting.

We are looking for social care managerial experience, budget management experience, strong communication and organisation, and confidence supporting a staff team. Understanding recovery-focused mental health support and complex needs will be valuable. Service management experience is desirable.

Hours are normally Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. Evening/weekend on-call cover and flexibility for a service operating seven days a week are required, with work across sites.

A Star Care Agency is recruiting a Recovery College Tutor on behalf of a client, working across multiple venues in Northeast Essex.

You will co-design and deliver accessible courses for adults with lived experience of mental ill health, as well as families, carers and practitioners. Working alongside peer trainers and partner organisations, you will help people engage with learning and feel welcome in the classroom.

Your work will include:
• Designing short courses and learning materials that promote mental health and wellbeing, including everyday English and maths.
• Adapting sessions to individual learning needs and supporting peer trainers.
• Building community relationships and helping learners enrol and stay involved.
• Recording attendance and progress, gathering feedback and improving courses.
• Maintaining safe, inclusive learning environments and professional boundaries.

We are looking for experience engaging communities who face barriers to accessing services, experience designing short courses, and knowledge of training and co-produced learning. You will need strong communication, organisation and computer skills, and confidence developing courses independently within agreed guidelines.

A Level 3 adult teaching qualification or equivalent/higher qualification is desirable, not essential. Co-production experience and understanding of mental health and supported learning are also desirable.

You will support the Service Manager with daily operations and deputise in their absence, helping adults with long-term mental health needs build independence and progress along their recovery pathway.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Supervising and supporting staff; helping with rotas, induction and training.
• Person-centred support planning, risk assessments and safeguarding.
• Working with families, commissioners and multidisciplinary teams.
• Supporting housing management, health and safety, record keeping, reporting and budget monitoring.
• Taking part in the Essex on-call rota.

We are looking for social care management experience, experience supporting people with mental illness and/or complex needs and substance or alcohol misuse, strong communication and administration skills, and confidence managing risk and supporting a staff team. Budget management experience is required. Service management experience and NVQ Level 3 Management or equivalent are desirable.
