Gutter corners are where debris tends to settle.

That yellow sign is there for a reason.

Our pure water system runs through a hose, and on this job it crossed the patio, so a trip-hazard sign went down beside it. A small thing, but it matters when there are children, pets or visitors about.

Patio and French doors get the same attention as the rest of the glass, frames included.

Solar panels sit out in all weathers, just like your windows.

Dust, bird droppings and general grime settle on them over time, and on a roof that's not something most people can easily see, let alone reach.

These residential panels were cleaned from the ground with a long pole and soft brush. We clean solar panels as well as windows, gutters and conservatories.

If something's growing in your gutter, it's due a clear-out.

Moss and weeds like these take root in the silt that settles along the bottom of a gutter. By the time you can see them from the ground, there's usually a fair amount of debris holding them in place.

Three gutter checks you can do without a ladder.

1. Look along the gutter line. Grass, moss or small plants growing out of it mean it's holding debris.
2. Watch it in heavy rain. Water should run to the downpipe, not spill over the edge.
3. Check the wall below. Streaks or damp patches under the gutter can point to overflow.

Worth saving for the next downpour, or passing on to someone who'd rather not go up a ladder.
