| Insch Farmhouse |

Works are well underway at our Farmhouse extension and renovation project on the outskirts of Insch.

The core brief was simple: reconfigure the house to create a new functional entrance and open Kitchen, Dining & Living space filled with natural light and views beyond to Bennachie.

Most of the work currently is centred round the front elevation which sees the completion of the larch cladding and natural stone base course/sill, resulting in a warm, modern yet simplistic covered Entrance to the property.

| Building Warrant Approved |

We’re delighted to have gained building warrant approval for a replacement dwellinghouse in the heart of the Cairngorms, in Boat of Garten.

An efficient, A rated dwelling with bio-diverse sedum roofs, larch cladding and exposed Douglas Fir rafters throughout. These honest, organic materials aim to create warmth and natural texture, transitioning externally and carrying through into the internal space.

It’s great to have these details considered and developed as we head into the next stages of work. We’re excited to see this commission progress.

| Best Seat in the House |

Delighted to see this extension and alterations commission progressing well on site, which now sees the steel and kit erected, with roof joists beginning to be anchored into place.

Great work as ever by main contractor JHJ Construction.

The finished contemporary extension, of expansive glass and cladding panels, will overlook one of the best views in the North East - Cruden Bay Golf Club and to the dunes beyond.

Excited to see this develop through our contract admin and supervision on-site (and from the tee box!).

At the heart of our studio, our material swatches library is ever growing, now taken over our window sill.

From textures and tones, to durability and tactile finishes, these samples allow us, our clients and contractors to explore, compare and refine every detail before it’s realised on site.

From slate and terracotta corrugated sheeting, to timber cladding and flooring samples, it’s important to have varied swatches to cover various aesthetic, architectural and forms variations for each project.

| Finished Dwellinghouse |

Dusk shots captured last week, in between fleeting snow showers, at our recently completed bothy renovation & new dwellinghouse project near Glassel, Banchory.

Great to see the building nestling into its surroundings, with a shaped, contoured garden ground ready for landscaping this spring (when the snow decides to clear!).

An incredible job undertaken by the Annie Kenyon Developments team to deliver and carry through.
