𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 - 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

We would like to inform you of an important change to the dates for HSP Latin America/Americas 2027, which will now take place from 𝟳–𝟵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

This change has been made in consideration of other international industry events taking place in close proximity to our originally scheduled dates. We believe that adjusting the timing will help provide delegates, speakers, sponsors and partners with the best possible opportunity to participate in HSP Latin America/Americas, which takes place in Ottawa, Canada.

The event will continue to bring together key stakeholders from across the banknote, identity and secure documents industries to share insights, explore new technologies and discuss the latest developments shaping the future of our sector.

We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause and kindly ask you to update your diaries accordingly.

For further information and updates, please visit our website www.hsp-latinamerica.com 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗡𝗢𝗪.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to Ottawa on 7–9 September 2027.

An Optimistic Industry in Transition at The Coin Conference 2026

The 2026 Coin Conference was held in Budapest, Hungary’s capital, situated on either side of the River Danube and inhabited for nearly two millennia. Taking place from 28-30 September, Budapest’s rich blend of history, culture and innovation provided the ideal backdrop for an event focused on the future of circulating coinage and the challenges facing the industry.

The conference hosted nearly 160 delegates, from 87 organisations across 36 countries. And despite those challenges – among them declining use of cash in some jurisdictions, the removal of low-value coins, rising costs and industry disruption with the recent exit of two major manufacturers – the event was characterised by a mood of optimism and hope.

The next Coin Conference will take place in Autumn 2028.

House Notes: Art, Design and Security in One

Showcase Your Innovation in the 2027 House Notes Supplement Every year sees the production of a range of house or concept notes, issued by printers and suppliers as tools to demonstrate their design and technical capabilities, and/or introduce their latest features. Currency News™ will publish its fourth special supplement, House Notes: Art, Design and Security in One, in Spring 2027 – featuring the latest house notes from across the industry.

The supplement will contain full details of the house notes contained within, including the backstory (rationale, objectives, design concept, partners) and specific information on security and production features, in addition to images of the notes themselves.

The supplement will be distributed free of charge to central banks, printers and other stakeholders in banknote design and specification, while printed copies will be made available at a number of industry-leading events during 2027.

The next issue is currently being compiled, with any house notes produced since the start of 2026 eligible for inclusion.

If you have a house note or series that you would like included, please contact us at [email protected].

The deadline for submission of materials for the supplement is 31 January 2026.

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 - 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱

The 2026 Security Designers Forum, held in Istanbul from 7–9 September, demonstrated once again why there is a growing need for a dedicated event focused on the people, ideas and decisions behind the design of secure documents.

Following the success of the inaugural Forum in Warsaw in 2024, the 2026 event brought together designers, central banks, government authorities, security printers, technology providers, material specialists and other experts from across the international security design community. The result was three days of discussion, knowledge-sharing and networking that reflected both the maturity of the industry and the pace of change taking place within it.

The Forum’s central premise is straightforward: design is about much more than appearance. The decisions made by designers influence usability, public recognition, authentication, security, manufacturing, sustainability and ultimately the level of trust placed in a banknote or identity document.

The 2026 programme embraced that philosophy fully, examining not only how secure documents are designed, but why particular design decisions matter and how they need to respond to a rapidly changing environment.

As the secure document industry continues to evolve, the need for this kind of open, specialist and collaborative forum is only likely to increase.

With this in mind, the next Security Designers Forum will take place in September 2028 in Europe with the final location to be confirmed in due course. And although the event is on a growth curve, the numbers will be capped to maintain the sharing of knowledge and best practice in an informal, cooperative and collegial setting.

High Security Printing™ EMEA 2026 – See What You Missed

High Security Printing™ EMEA Makes It's African Debut with a Record Audience

This February, HSP EMEA marked its 22nd edition with its largest event yet. For the first time, the conference was on the African continent (Rabat, in Morocco), highlighting the region’s growing economic momentum and role in global technology and development, particular as regards secure printing, identity management, and related technologies.

A record 341 delegates from 146 organisations in 49 countries attended, a 28% increase from last year. A notable rise in central bank and government delegations gave the event a different regional balance compared with previous editions.
