Right folks, more and more I'm hearing that local people are finding it very hard to get local companies to come out to give quotes for various trades.
In the past and also recently, myself and other friends/family members have found the same to be true.
Be it, roofing services, general builders, windows and doors suppliers and garden/ landscaping companies, they seem to be the ones most folk have the most problems with.
Even if they do come out to price a job, they'll say they'll get back to you, but you will, A- never hear from them again, B- you have to continually chase them up, or C- they'll price the job so ridiculously over the top, that you wouldn't give them the job anyway.
You really do get peed off chasing these people, who seem to just string you along.

SO.. If the job isn't for you, PLEASE.. be honest, there's no need to leave folks hanging.

Let me know your personal recommendations please peeps, companies who actually will do as they say they will.

I'm more than happy to promote them on my own page if they've turned up to quote for the job, if they actually deliver the quote, and lastly, if they do a great job.
I'm all for supporting local businesses, 💯 but come on guys, don't forget where your bread and butter is. Be upfront, be honest and do a damn good job!

Hi folks, another busy week comes to an end for some of us. It's been mostly hoovers this week and a couple of tumble dryers.
A couple of the hoovers I've had in this week were saveable, but with some major surgery and a few £'s in new parts required, but my customers decided they'd go for a new one, which is always their perogative.
We've seen some pretty serious blockages of late, (see pics) and these hoovers were just not providing any suction at all, in fact, they were damn useless 😆Most of the ones this week, although badly choked up, the filters were still in a pretty reasonable condition, so didn't need to be replaced at this time. I will always advise the customer if the filters have seen better days. I can order replacements if and when required, they usually don't cost any more than £10 - £14, depending on make/model. They do make a huge difference to the all round performance. There's no extra cost for me to order and fit them for you, it's all part of the service.

Hi all, we just wanted to say, although we cover the Helensburgh, Rhu and Cardross area, and offer free collection and drop back service, for hoovers in those areas, we also cover as far as the Rosneath peninsula, round to Cove for a small charge. We also cover Dumbarton and the Vale areas, Balloch, Renton, Bonhill etc for a small cost too, to cover fuel.
Don't worry if you are outside of these areas, we can still service and deep clean your hoovers, but we would ask you to deliver them to us here in Helensburgh.
We've had enquiries from as far away as Ayrshire, Crianlarich and out towards Stirling, so if you can bring your hoover to us, we'll be happy to sort it out for you!

One or two of this weeks hoover jobs. A couple of them were completely blocked from end to end and not picking up anything at all, both were about to be thrown away. Having the right tools for the job let's me get right into the the heart of where the problems lie. I fully strip down the whole hoover, then deep clean every single part separately. I wash and dry the filters, or if required, replace them. I can also deoderise the hoover, if the customer would like. (some choose not to)
Most modern hoover makers, use very different screws etc from the norm, usually specific to their own companies, which makes life very difficult for the ordinary man/woman on the street to properly, deep clean them fully.
That's where I come in.
The correct tooling lets me strip it right down and get it performing back to it's best again.
I've also had a couple of washing machines and a dishwasher deep cleans this week too, along with a few other odd jobs.
All of the above, whilst both Mrs C and I, have been juggling hospital visits, day to day life, plus our wee dog Jeffy, having to have surgery on his eye and some dental work done. One of us had to be with him at all times when he got home, and for the first 2-3 days, as he was clattering around with his huge cone of shame on his head, and was likely to cause himself even more damage! He has stitches in his eyelid as well as a few in his mouth where some teeth were removed. Needless to say, he's feeling very sorry for himself and is milking it for all it's worth!
Another 2 or 3 hoovers to get done before the weekend, then I think we'll treat ourselves to a wee day or 2 off at the beginning of next week, since the weather looks like finally picking up. All work and no play... as they say..

Good evening folks, our apologies for a lack of page content of late. We've had quite a lot going on, family wise, as well as work wise. Mrs C has been run a bit ragged of late, whilst being under the weather herself. She's usually the admin/ Facebook posty wummin while I'm the mucky hands guy.
We've had quite the selection of jobs in the last couple of weeks. This week, we've had, several different Shark vacuum models, a fairly old Dyson, a shark hydrovac hard floor cleaner, and a couple each of tumble dryer, and washing machine cleans.
Our 6 pets have kept us both sane and grounded these last few weeks, no matter what the day has flung at us, once the door is closed for the day, they have all, in their own wee ways, brought us such comfort and love.
Our 2 amazing wee dogs, Jeffrey (Jeffy) who is a dementia therapy dog, and Brody, a very loving lurcher, were both allowed into the hospital to visit their 89 year old granny last week, when we were beginning to fear the very worst for her. They both brought their granny such happiness, she was so pleased to see them and both of them raised a fair few smiles. They also visited some other patients, who wanted to see them while they were there too. Thankfully, the boys visit seems to have had the desired effect and granny has hopefully turned a wee corner. A fair way to go as yet, but 🤞🤞heading in the right direction now.
Never underestimate the power of the love and healing animals can bring!
Kitten snuggles have helped Mrs C majorly too.
These are some of the pics I actually remembered to take during the last crazy week. The shark hydrovac hard floor cleaner was a lot of graft but it eventually cleaned up extremely well.
