π¨ CONFESSION TIME... π¨
Before anyone judges me...
Don't. π
Meet... Mount Washmore. ποΈπ§Ί
It's been about two weeks since I last saw my bed. At this point, I'm not even convinced it's still there.
The irony of all this?
I put the washing on my bed so I'd have to fold it before I went to sleep... so it didn't end up sitting in the washing basket for ages.
Well...
That plan backfired spectacularly. π€¦πΌββοΈπ
Instead of folding it...
It slowly evolved into Mount Washmore.
Every day I walk into the room, look at the pile and go...
"Mm-mm... not today." πͺπ
Then I shut the bedroom door and continue living in complete denial.
My solution?
Sleep on the sofa bed instead. π€·πΌββοΈπ€£
And before anyone comments on my spaceship wallpaper...
No, I haven't completely lost the plot. π I swapped bedrooms with the boys, so I'm now in what was their room... and I just haven't got around to decorating yet.
So yes... I'm currently living in a moon-themed, out-of-this-world bedroom. ππ
Between cleaning clients' homes all day, running a business, football, school, helping my mum move, viewings, the endless life admin that comes with being an adult... and everything else life throws at me...
Mount Washmore won.
The irony?
I'm a professional cleaner...
But when I get home, I can barely convince myself to put the dishwasher on, never mind fold what feels like 147 pairs of shorts, T-shirts, socks and pants. π
Truth be told, after spending all day cleaning, I'd genuinely rather sit down with a cup of tea and stick a murder documentary on than tackle this lot.
And let's be honest... I don't get paid to fold my own laundry, so it can wait for another day. π€·πΌββοΈπ€£
So instead...
πͺ I shut the bedroom door.
ποΈ Pull the sofa bed out.
π Pretend Mount Washmore doesn't exist.
πΊ Put a murder documentary on.
And carry on with my evening.
Friday is the day.
No more excuses.
Mount Washmore... I'm coming for you. πͺ
The reason I'm sharing this isn't because I'm proud of the washing pile. It's because I think sometimes people forget that behind every cleaning business is a real person. We spend our days helping other people keep on top of their homes, but that doesn't mean our own lives are perfect. We still have families, football, school runs, viewings, parents to help, laundry mountains, and days where we're simply exhausted.
So if your house isn't perfect today... you're not the only one. β€οΈ
Now... if you'll excuse me, I'm off to continue ignoring Mount Washmore until Friday. Wish me luck! π€£
