Terms & Conditions
Updated 2026
General
All clients are asked to complete our consultation form, which includes details of grooming preferences and any known medical issues. Doggy Furdoos cannot be held liable for any pre existing conditions found throughout the grooming process and any advice given regarding your pet's health should be followed up with advice from your vet. In the event of injury or illness, a vet may be sought and all costs will be at the client's expense.
Clients must inform us if their pet has a bite history or any behavioural concerns that may affect handling. Doggy Furdoos has the right to cease grooming should a pet become distressed or if continuing would compromise the welfare of the pet or the safety of staff. In this event, the client will be contacted immediately and asked to collect their pet. Full payment will be taken on collection. Where appropriate, and with the client's agreement, a rehabilitation plan may be recommended.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that their pets' vaccinations are up to date and they are flea free prior to coming to Doggy Furdoos salon. We have a flea charge of £12 which goes towards deep cleaning of the salon and flea control.
It is the sole responsibility of the client to remember their appointment. Please note that when a client books an appointment, that time is allocated specifically to their pet and cannot be offered to another client.
Doggy Furdoos reserves the right to refuse or discontinue any service where doing so is considered necessary for the safety, welfare, health, or wellbeing of the pet, staff members, or other animals within the salon.
Pricing & Estimates
All prices quoted prior to an appointment are estimates based on the information provided by the client. Final pricing may vary depending on coat condition, behaviour, handling requirements, time required, and any additional services requested during the appointment. Any significant variation will be discussed with the client wherever possible.
Late Arrivals
Clients arriving late may need to have their appointment shortened, rescheduled, or cancelled if completing the service would negatively affect other scheduled appointments. Full or partial charges may still apply.
Collection of Pets
Clients are expected to collect their pet promptly at the agreed collection time. We are not a daycare facility and space within the salon is limited. Additional charges may apply where pets are collected significantly later than agreed without prior arrangement.
Senior Pets & Health Conditions
Doggy Furdoos welcomes senior pets and pets with health conditions. The client acknowledges that grooming may place additional physical demands on these animals. Grooming procedures may be adapted, shortened, split across multiple visits, or discontinued where this is considered to be in the pet's best interests.
Matted Coats
In the event that a coat is severely matted, a clip down may be needed. This is often the kindest and most comfortable way to deal with severe matting.
The client should be aware that irritation can occur due to the location and severity of the matting and because it is often close to the skin. The client agrees that Doggy Furdoos will not be held liable for any after grooming effects or problems uncovered beneath a severely matted or neglected coat.
Clients are asked to be honest about the condition of the coat when enquiring about our grooming services so we can provide an accurate estimate. Otherwise, there may be a surcharge of up to 100% of the regular grooming price. In severe cases, Doggy Furdoos reserves the right to refuse service.
Puppy Packages
Puppy packages are designed as a structured programme, with appointment times reserved specifically for your puppy's development and introduction to grooming.
Payment for puppy packages is non refundable once the first appointment has taken place. Missed appointments, cancelled appointments, or failure to complete the programme will not qualify for a refund.
Where sufficient notice is provided, Doggy Furdoos will make reasonable efforts to rearrange appointments within the puppy package. However, repeated cancellations or prolonged gaps between appointments may affect the effectiveness of the programme.
Doggy Furdoos reserves the right to adapt the content, pace, or number of sessions within the package to suit the individual needs and wellbeing of the puppy.
Puppies who do not complete the puppy package may be required to undertake additional introductory sessions before progressing to full grooming appointments.
Teeth Cleaning Services
Emmi Pet teeth cleaning is a cosmetic maintenance service intended to support routine oral hygiene. It is not a veterinary procedure and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Clients with concerns regarding their pet's oral health should seek advice from their veterinary surgeon.
Photography
We may photograph your pet before, during, or after the grooming process for use on our website, social media platforms, marketing materials, or educational content unless you specifically request us not to do so.
Clients may withdraw consent for photography at any time by informing Doggy Furdoos.
Payments, Cancellations & Booking Fees
Full payment is required on collection of your pet.
Clients are required to give a minimum of 48 hours notice if a cancellation is needed. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in the full appointment fee becoming payable.
Any client who fails to attend their appointment may be asked to pay the full cost of the missed appointment and may be required to pay in advance or leave a booking fee before future appointments can be made.
Booking fees may be requested from any client and are commonly used during busy periods, including Christmas, to protect the sustainability of the business.
Where a booking fee is required, this fee secures the appointment time and will be deducted from the final invoice. Booking fees will be retained where less than 48 hours notice of cancellation is given.
Ethics
Doggy Furdoos is a cooperative based practice and does not endorse or support aversive handling or training methods.
Doggy Furdoos may request carer support or assistance where a pet's wellbeing requires it. Clients are expected to work cooperatively with Doggy Furdoos for the wellbeing of their pet.
New clients may be invited to attend a meet and treat appointment before grooming services commence.
Please note that we are a low stress salon and the physical and emotional wellbeing of the pets in our care will always be prioritised over styling and the completion of a groom. We will not use force to complete a grooming service.
Amendments
Doggy Furdoos reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website.
