🎃 Halloween is round the corner! Here’s a quick tip from the Pestforce team...

Your pumpkins could attract more than trick-or-treaters. They’re also a tempting treat for rodents!

Please be mindful not to leave them outside for too long before or after Halloween, and clear them away once the spooky celebrations are over.

Keep the treats for the trick-or-treaters!

Grey squirrels are classified as an invasive species therefore it is illegal to live-capture and re-release them back into the wild.

Understanding this strict legislation is incredibly important as it prevents you from accidentally committing a wildlife crime.

Always use a trusted professional.

Having a squirrel in your attic is not just annoying on your ears but is a major safety risk as well.

Squirrels are rodents with incredibly strong teeth, and they will constantly gnaw on hard materials to keep them filed down. Once inside your roof, they can chew through structural wooden timbers, lift roof tiles, and most dangerously, gnaw straight through your electrical wiring.

Understanding the severe damage they can cause is vital for every homeowner. By recognising that squirrels in the attic represent a very real fire hazard and financial risk, you will know exactly why it is so important to call a professional immediately rather than ignoring the scratching noises above your ceiling.

Hearing scratching, scurrying or movement above your ceiling could mean a squirrel has found its way into your roof space.

Squirrels can get through surprisingly small gaps, often around loose tiles, damaged soffits and other weak points.

We can identify how they are getting in and advise on the right approach to help protect your home from further damage.

I used Michael Pilla, the Pestforce rep for Crawley.
I found earlier glowing reviews for Michael on-line, and contacted him for a rodent problem. I found Michael very friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and most of all, effective! I would have no hesitation in using, and recommending him, for any other activities.

Why Do I Suddenly Have So Many House Flies?

If you're suddenly dealing with lots of flies, there's ALWAYS a reason they're there.

Flies are attracted to sources of food and breeding, particularly rotting organic waste. That could be an overflowing bin, food waste or another nearby source.

Rather than simply dealing with the adult flies, identifying where they're coming from is an important part of effective pest control.

Find the source, deal with the cause and you can tackle the problem properly.

The Simple Fix for Fruit Flies 🪰

Fruit flies can quickly turn into a kitchen nuisance, especially when overripe fruit is left sitting around.

The good news? Sometimes the simplest solution is the most effective.

Check fruit bowls, food waste and other sources of decomposing organic material. Removing the source can help break the breeding cycle and prevent the problem from continuing.

Tiny Flies Around Your Sink? Here's Why

You could be dealing with drain flies. Damp, dirty areas around drains can provide the ideal conditions for them to breed.

Keeping drains clean and clear, along with removing standing water and clearing blocked gutters, can help remove the conditions these pests need.

The Bin Bag Mistake That Attracts Flies

An open bin bag, overflowing bin or food waste left sitting around can quickly attract house flies.

Flies are drawn to rotting organic waste, which can also provide a place to feed and breed.

Keeping bins sealed and removing waste regularly can help prevent fly problems before they start.
