Oh my gosh this place is absolutely fantastic! One of the best customer service experiences I have ever received anywhere! What's more, I could not be happier with the result of the washing and drying.
Today was the first time I have ever used a laundrette in my entire life and I have to say I was very apprehensive. So I called the day before, explained my washing machine had broken and that I had never used a laundrette before, and Nigel (the owner) was the absolute epitome of excellent customer service. He kindly explained exactly what I'd need (washing detergent, bags/washing basket to transport the washing, and either pound coins or a debit card - as you can buy the coins there). He explained that the washing machines were a little bigger than household ones, cost £5 and would take about 30 minutes, or there was a giant one which would have happily taken all my three of my loads at once for just £9. He also told me about the dryers too which from memory I think was about £3 for 7 minutes - but I could be wrong. Nigel explained if I arrived before 1pm he would be able to walk me through everything. I arrived at 9am and Nigel was true to his word and helped me put my three loads on (he did point out I could save money using just the bigger one, but typically I prefer to separate them - but next time I think I might go all in :D) he then said it would take about 30 minutes for the washing to go through its cycle. On the call the day before when I was working out what time would be best to do my washing I mentioned I usually swam on a Wednesday morning and perhaps I'd come in after my swim. But Nigel very kindly said I could leave my wash on while I went swimming. He then extremely generously, took the washing out the machines and put them into the dryer for me, (he of course asked me if I wanted this done - to which I gratefully said yes please!). So that when I came back from my swim a few hours later, everything was washed and dried. Then he and a lovely member of staff called Malcolm, helped me fold and bag everything up. THEN Malcolm, being an absolute gentlemen of the highest order, helped me carry all my (many :D) bags to the car in the rain!
Without hesitation, I absolutely 100% whole heartedly recommend the St Catherine's Laundrette! Even though my washing machine is due to be fixed next week, I'm going to go back just for the dryer alone! My towels and jumpers have never felt so soft and fluffy!! And I'll definitely be back to do my duvets in the jumbo size machine.
In summary, truly professional, excellent customer service, incredibly reasonable prices, and wonderful clean and dry (not to mention super soft) washing. I could not be happier!
