⚠️URGENT WARNING TO ALL CLEANERS – POTENTIAL SCAM / SAFETY RISK ⚠️

Over the last few days, multiple self-employed cleaners across the UK (including Poole/Wimborne/Dorset and Leicester) have received almost identical WhatsApp messages from the same unknown number.

The story they give is consistent:

- They claim there has been a “cake fight” (or similar mess) in their home gym

-They specifically request a female cleaner to attend the property alone

One cleaner in Leicester received the message first, felt uneasy, and shared the screenshots in a private cleaners’ group. The very next day I (based in the Poole/Wimborne area) received the exact same scripted message from the same number.

This is NOT a genuine cleaning enquiry.

The major red flags are:

- identical wording used with cleaners hundreds of miles apart

- Specific insistence on a lone female cleaner attending

- The unusual nature of the requested job

This has all the hallmarks of a targeted scam that could put cleaners in real physical danger. We regularly enter strangers’ homes trusting that bookings are legitimate – this one clearly is not.

I have reported the number and full message thread to Dorset Police and to Action Fraud. I strongly urge every cleaner who receives anything similar to do the same immediately and DO NOT attend under any circumstances.

Please copy and share this warning with every cleaner you know – local Facebook groups, WhatsApp groups, stories, anywhere cleaners might see it.
