For almost 8 years, Shada and the team at the Turkish Barber Club have been a familiar face on the corner of Addison Road and Kings Heath High Street.

Built from scratch and shaped by a loyal community of regulars, the business has grown over the years. When asked what keeps him in Kings Heath, business owner Shada simply answered: “There’s good people in Kings Heath”. That community spirit shows up in the shop too, where regulars stop by for a trim, families bring their children in for haircuts, and customers are greeted with tea, coffee and conversation, alongside the full Turkish barber experience.

With more than 15 years experience, the team pride themselves on quality cuts, customer care and helping people leave feeling confident. Shada says one of the best parts of the job is seeing happy customers walk out after a fresh cut.

And with summer finally making an appearance, Shada is also keen to point out one very important feature…according to him, the shop’s air conditioning might just be the best on the High Street! Something both staff and customers are especially appreciating lately.

Take a look through our photographs to meet Shada and see the team in action, and if you’re passing by their shop, pop in, say hello and book your next haircut!

One person’s unloved jacket is another person’s new favourite 🧥

Kings Heath Community Centre and The What Shop are hosting another much-anticipated Clothes Swap. Attendees are invited to bring up to 10 items they no longer wear, pick up a ticket for just £3, and leave with something they’ll actually love - all while doing their bit for the planet 💚

And to celebrate Sustainable Fashion Week’s campaign, there’s also a repair room on the day, with supplies kindly provided by Sustainable Fashion Brum. Visitors can mend, patch, and breathe new life into clothes they already own and it’s a chance to share skills, swap knowledge, and give well-loved pieces a second chance.

Add in some great tunes and refreshments, and it’s shaping up to be a feel-good event with a large dose of community spirit 🙌

Every penny on the door goes straight back into the community centre, so it’s a wonderful way to refresh your wardrobe and support something locally at the same time.
