Support from different generations! 👏

Aimee and Sarah, two of our recent Junior Duke completers, were pictured with their certificates by their grandparent Suzy, who, as a Girl Guide leader, also learned life skills as a child, and felt it prominent to encourage her granddaughters to do the same!

Understanding the importance of learning life skills spans through generations, and we will continue to keep that message going! 🙌

Alice - "I like Junior Duke - it really helped with different skills. My favourite skill was happiness because I got to do it at the sailing centre and l've got a new passion for sailing. I also really liked my teacher helping me through every step of the way and support from home as well.”

Summer activity INCOMING! 🌸

Although it is one of our Micro Duke challenges, flower dying can be enjoyed outwith of the award as a fun afternoon activity that will teach children about patience. All you’ll need is:

🌸 A white flower
💧 A glass of water
🎨 Food colouring

Place the white flower in a glass of water and add in the food colouring. Watch and see what happens over the next few days…

Two Junior Dukers under one roof! 🙌

Ralph and Wilfred are brothers, taking on two different levels of the Junior Duke at the same time! Supporting each other through their tasks, each brother recently earned an Outstanding Achievement for their work!

Wilfred is currently completing his Gold Junior Duke Award, earning himself an Outstanding Achievement for creating a fantastic knitted square for the Caring for Others challenge! This will make a great addition to a blanket in Africa, well done!

Ralph, who is completing his Bronze Junior Duke Award baked a delicious monkey bread for his family to share. A great way to bring the family together!

Archer the OUTSTANDING! 🌟

As one of our independent Junior Dukers, Archer is in a more unique position. Archer isn’t part of a class in a school who are all doing the Junior Duke, he does his challenges at home, with the encouragement of his parents.

Having the support network of friends or family is important, those positive words of encouragement go a long way in boosting a child’s confidence and getting them one step closer to earning their award! 🙌

The Junior Duke Award aims to give children independence from a young age, the confidence to take on any challenge that comes their way and the resilience to try again when things get tough.

It is an honour to be recognised for creating a positive impact among the young people who take part in the Junior Duke Award. Seeing the growth and development of the children year on year is a true testament to what the Award is all about. 🌟
