We were lucky enough to be part of the Tour of Epynt 2026 this weekend, organised by Port Talbot Motor Club. Flying the Shimmer & Shine colours was our Evo X, with Phil Evans on the throttle and Ryland James on the notes 👌🥰🏁
The weekend started with the ceremonial start in Llandovery, and it was brilliant to see so many people out supporting the event. It always creates such a great atmosphere and is a lovely way to kick off the weekend 👌☀️
Saturday started really well, but unfortunately a failed boost pipe cost the boys valuable time. It was disappointing, but that’s rallying. Once they were back in service, Steve & Phil worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to get the car repaired and ready to head back out on Sunday morning. There is so much work that goes on away from the stages that people never get to see, and without that effort none of this would be possible 🙏💙💙
Sunday… well, Epynt did what Epynt does best and gave us four seasons in one day 🌦️😂 One minute it was bright sunshine, the next it was rain, wind and greasy roads, making every stage a real challenge.
Ryland was his usual calm, collected self on the notes, while Phil just kept pushing on. They really do make an incredible team together, and it’s always a pleasure watching them both do what they do best 👌💙💙
A huge thank you to the service crew for everything they did over the weekend. Everyone mucks in, everyone looks after each other, everyone makes sure there’s food and plenty of tea on the go, and honestly it feels like we’ve got our own little rally family 🥰
A special mention as well to The Castle Hotel Llandovery. We always seem to end up there for refreshments over rally weekends, and they are fantastic. They make the whole team feel so welcome every single time, and it’s lovely to have somewhere that embraces the rally community the way they do. ❤️
All the hard work paid off with an amazing result…
