🏠 Before & After – Chimney Protection! 🦝

What a difference a new chimney cap can make!

This chimney had a severely deteriorated clay flue, leaving the opening completely exposed to wildlife and the elements.

We installed a heavy-duty, wildlife-proof metal chimney cap to help prevent raccoons, squirrels, and birds from entering, while also keeping rain, snow, and debris out of the chimney.

Chimneys are often overlooked when it comes to wildlife prevention. Without proper protection, they can become an inviting shelter for wildlife, potentially leading to costly damage and unwanted visitors inside your home.

A simple upgrade that provides long-lasting protection!

🍂 Fall is here, and rodent season is already underway. 🐭

Take a close look at the corner in this photo. Those dark dirt and grease marks along the brick and soffit aren’t just normal staining — they’re from mice repeatedly travelling the same route into the home.

Mice are excellent climbers and don’t need to enter at ground level. They can climb brick, siding and other exterior surfaces to reach small openings around soffits, rooflines and other areas of a home.

As temperatures continue to drop, mice will be looking for warm, protected places to spend the winter. Finding and addressing how they’re getting inside is just as important as dealing with the mice already there.

If you’re hearing scratching, finding droppings, or noticing other signs of rodent activity, now is a great time to have your home inspected.

📞 Call or message Mitchell’s Nuisance Wildlife Solutions to book a rodent inspection.

🦝🐦 WILDLIFE DAMAGE? WE CAN FIX THAT. 🐦🦝

Wildlife problems don’t always end when the animals leave.

What started as birds nesting in this soffit eventually led to raccoons taking advantage of the damaged area and causing even more destruction. By the time we arrived, the soffit and fascia had suffered significant damage and required replacement.

For this project, all damaged soffit and fascia materials were removed and replaced with new materials, restoring the appearance of the home while eliminating the wildlife entry point.

Many wildlife companies stop at removing the animal. We can help with the repairs too, making sure the problem is properly addressed from start to finish.

If wildlife has damaged your roof, soffit, fascia, vents, or other areas of your home, give us a call.

Baby wildlife is everywhere right now — but alone does NOT always mean abandoned.

Many wildlife mothers leave their babies temporarily while they search for food or wait for the area to become quiet before returning.

Before rushing to “rescue” a baby animal, take a moment to observe from a distance. In many cases, mom is still nearby.

Sometimes the best thing we can do for wildlife is simply give them space.

🦝 One Vent Isn’t the Problem… It’s All of Them

Raccoons don’t just go after one weak spot. If they’re targeting your roof, every vent becomes a potential entry point.

This home had multiple vents showing signs of raccoon activity, so we secured them all with Wall-E-Covers to shut down every access point at once.

Stopping the problem early like this is the difference between prevention and a full attic cleanup later on.

🔧 Think Your Ridge Vent Is Safe? Think Again 🐿️🦇

Ridge vents are one of the most overlooked entry points on a home. Once they start to loosen or get worn down, it doesn’t take much for wildlife to find their way inside.

This one is now properly protected with a professional ridge guard installation, keeping wildlife out while still allowing the roof to vent the way it’s supposed to.

🐾 What Did We Find in the Last 24 Hours? 🐾

Within the last 24 hours, we’ve come across our first litters of baby squirrels and baby raccoons of the season.

This is when things start ramping up. Mothers are actively looking for safe, warm places to nest, and attics are one of the most common spots they choose.

If you’re hearing scratching, thumping, or movement overhead, it’s not something to ignore.
