Is spider spraying safe for my family?? 👧🏼👶🏼🧒🏻

As with pets, if you’re concerned about the effect spider spraying could have on you and your family’s health, rest assured that the process is the same as with pets. Once the pesticide solution is dry, it is completely safe for pets and humans alike. A good metaphor for the process is to consider it the same as paint; consuming wet paint is dangerous, but once dry on the wall in your home, your worries of safety are put to rest.

If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact Exit Wildlife today!!

Squirrels have their kits from the end of March, beginning of April to the end of May. Half the time, a second litter will follow in July to August. These litters range from 1-8 kits with 1-4 being the average. The baby squirrels eyes open at the 2 week mark, and follow their mother outside around 4 weeks. Baby squirrels are incredibly inquisitive and have been known to approach people, even crawling over, or sitting on the person’s feet. So, if you see a small squirrel approach you in the spring or mid summer, they’re just checking you out for fun! But remember, as with all wild animals, keep your hands to yourself.

And if you do find these little creatures causing trouble with the infrastructure of your home or cottage, feel free to give Exit Wildlife a call for assistance! 🐿️🌰🌸☀️

🕸️ So, you have spiders all over your soffits, window ledges, and lights. How on earth does a spray help get rid of these creepy crawlies on your home or cottage specifically? Well, the pesticide spray we use today has a high level of technology integrated on a molecular level. A bonding agent is tied into the pesticide, allowing it to not breakdown quickly and last longer. When spiders pass over this spray, because of their small size and sensitivity, the pesticide that’s now bonded to the surface triggers the spiders’ nervous system. This causes the fatality of the spider as it overloads its nerve receptors, effectively stopping the spider in its tracks. And once the spiders are gone from the pesticide treated structure, it is now possible to finally catch up on cleaning off those cobwebs and enjoying the web free beauty of your home or cottage. 🕸️

🦝☀️ Raccoon Baby Fun Facts!!

Racoons typically have their babies between March and May, with (although rare) a sporadic birth in June. Their litter sizes are between 1 and 9 kits, but averaging 4-6. The mother, raising the kits alone, typically gives birth and remains with the kits for 24-48 hours before venturing out at night looking for food. After that, weather depending, the mother will go out nightly to seek out food. After 3-4 weeks, the little ones’ eyes open and they start to become aware of their surroundings. By 8 weeks, they are able to go outside and explore while their mother keeps a sharp eye on them. They will continue to grow over the summer staying by the side of their mother. By fall, the now adult male kits will leave, but the females will sometimes stay with the mother till winter, leaving before spring to prepare homes for the next generation.

Spiders are a creepy crawly people often do not appreciate due to their menacing appearance. Here’s some facts about these interesting (if phobia inducing) creatures:

Spider population growth is highly dependant on bugs they feed on. Cottages and homes near water tend to have major issues with spiders as water is an attraction for many insects they tend to prey on. 🕸️ 🕸️ 🕸️

Lights on your home, such as soffit lights, will bring prey to these arachnids too. This leads to extremely messy soffits and walls directly beneath the lights, as well as the lights themselves due to webs and leftover bug shells. 🕸️ 🕸️ 🕸️

Some spiders are known as balloonists. When they hatch, they create a small web, or balloon, that catches the wind which carries them to hopefully a location with no other spiders to compete with for food. 🕸️ 🕸️ 🕸️

If you’re concerned about these creatures and their ability to make your home appear like it’s Halloween in May, give Exit Wildlife a call today for answers to your questions and book your spider spray today!!

It’s baby season!! At the outset, this seems to be a charming and fun situation, the cute little animals coming into the world as the days get longer and the sun gets brighter ☀️ That is, until you’re waking up in the middle of the night, hearing noises above your bedroom, quiet chitters that get louder and louder. The sounds of rummaging and scurrying at all hours of the day. These are things one may not be ready to consider as a possibility in the day to day. And yet, one may suddenly be thrown into this situation with no warning or preparation. A mother raccoon, or squirrel, has invaded your safe space, and decided your dwelling is suitable to rear its young ones. Or, an invasive bird has found a weak point on your structure and has built a nest. Unfortunately, these situations can, and will, prove to be not only a major hindrance to your sleep and regular life patterns, it can be detrimental to your home, and even your health. If you have any of these adorable annoyances finding their way into your home and life, give Exit a call or send us a message and we will be happy to use our years of experience to help you find solutions to any baby animal situation you may be in this spring! 🌸☀️

Wildlife within your home or cottage comes with many challenges. Potential ports of entry can be very unassuming to us humans, however wildlife have instincts that make them very opportunistic. They will find structural weaknesses and then exploit them until they literally break into a structure. Once they are in they can choose a warm dry place to shelter and have their young.

Contact Exit Wildlife and Pest Control to schedule a structural inspection where we can create a personalized prevention plan for your home to prevent unnecessary complications due to wildlife occupation.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!! 🦝 🪺 🦨
