Last Friday, our Program Manager Tracey attended the DV Forum in Brisbane, where Minister Amanda Camm launched Queensland’s Safer Families, Safer Communities reform strategy.

It was encouraging to see the government resetting its approach to addressing domestic and family violence (DFV).

Phase One focuses on the “reset” stage, with a strong emphasis on prevention, including holding people who use violence (PUV) accountable for their actions. The strategy also recognises the importance of early intervention and providing support for young people affected by domestic violence — not only to help victim-survivors, but also to break the cycle of DFV across generations.

Phase One also includes a strong recovery and healing focus, with DFV support services working collaboratively to provide coordinated care and support for individuals, families, and communities impacted by domestic and family violence.

We are grateful for this continued commitment to strengthening coordinated responses for individuals, families and communities impacted by domestic and family violence. 💜

A few weeks ago we reached out for tracksuit tops and bottoms, and yesterday we were met with a generous donation from Valley Helping Hands Support Services.

Connections Café is on again today at WillowTree 37 from 10am - 12pm. 💜

Last week was another beautiful morning, with mindful activities including flower arranging, thanks to a very kind and generous donation of flowers from the Queensland Rural, Regional and Remote Women's Network. We are so grateful for their support in contributing to the day's mindful activity.

The women who joined us enjoyed the calm, relaxing and creative space where they took the opportunity to slow down, connect and enjoy the beauty of working with fresh flowers.

If you feel like a morning out of the house, we would love to welcome you. Join us for a cuppa, some morning tea and gentle conversation in a relaxed setting with other women.

There will be a creative activity available if you feel like taking part, or you are just as welcome to come along and enjoy the space in your own way. 💚

This week we celebrate National Volunteers Week - a time to recognise the generosity, care and kindness of volunteers everywhere. 💜

At WillowTree 37, our volunteers are truly at the heart of everything we do. From tending the gardens and preparing meals, to helping with washing, sorting pantry items and stepping in wherever they are needed, their contribution is felt in every part of the centre.

Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.

While this week shines a light on their impact, our volunteers are valued and appreciated each and every day. 💜

There were some beautiful chats and genuine connections at last week’s Connections Café. 💜

Some women brought along their own craft, while others enjoyed a little mindful colouring. It was such a lovely mix of creativity and quiet moments.

If you feel like a morning out of the house and the chance to sit with other women over a cuppa and some morning tea, we would love to see you.

Join us today between 10am - 12pm at WillowTree 37. We will have a simple craft activity available if you feel like taking part, or you are welcome to just come and be. 💚

Every woman’s journey is different - and so is the support she needs. 💜

At WillowTree 37, we walk alongside women experiencing domestic and family violence with care, respect and without judgement. Our support is always client-directed, because we believe every woman deserves to be heard and to make her own choices.

For some, that begins with the basics - a meal, a shower, a safe space to breathe. For others, it may mean helping with the next steps - referrals to trusted services, legal support and help preparing or understanding a DVO.

We can advocate where it's needed. We connect with services like DVConnect and DVAC, help secure emergency accommodation and take practical steps to support each woman’s safety and next chapter.

Most importantly, we listen. We meet women where they are and support them in their own time, in the way they need.

We truly live in the most incredible community. 💜

A wonderful initiative is happening thanks to George & Matilda Eyecare here in Warwick, who are collecting donations to support WillowTree 37 Women's Support Centre.

Toiletries, long-life food and everyday household items are so appreciated and go directly to women in our local community who need a little extra care.

You can drop your donations into their store at 95 Grafton Street. And while you are there… a good little reminder to finally book that eye test you've been putting off. 😉

$1,500+ raised. 💜☕

What a day and what a community. 👏

Last Wednesday’s fundraising event at 7&7 Cafe Warwick was something truly special. Cam and the team poured cup after cup, powered through 3.5kg of beans and gave it everything to support WillowTree 37.

Every coffee sold on the day helped turn kindness into real support for women in our region and our community showed up in the most beautiful way. 🫶

So much generosity. So much heart.

A heartfelt thank you to Cam and the team at 7 & 7 Café for bringing this event to life. And thank you to every single person who came along and supported this wonderful initiative. 💜 We are deeply grateful.
