🚩 Thinking of hiring a bond cleaner? Here are a few red flags to watch out for 👀
When it comes to something as important as your bond clean and your bond money not all cleaning services are created equal. Before you book, take a moment to consider these warning signs:
❌ No clear terms and conditions – A professional cleaner should always provide a clear outline of what’s included. If there’s no terms and conditions and no clear outline of whats included (or not included) it can lead to confusion.
❌ Cash-only payments – While cash might seem convenient, it can also be a sign the business isn’t registered, insured, or paying tax—leaving you exposed if anything goes wrong especially any damage done during the cleaning process. And with no paper trail you’ll have no proof of payment or works done if it’s not up to the real estates standard.
❌ No clear full name, business name or ABN on their invoices. This could be an indication that again the business isn’t registered or insured. These things are important especially insurance. If they break or damage something during the bond cleaning process you need peace of mind that they have the financial means to fix it.
❌ No online footprint – If you can’t find reviews, photos, or even a business page, ask yourself why. A good reputation is earned and proudly displayed.
❌ Prices that seem too good to be true. Legit businesses won’t be the cheapest. But there will be peace of mind that comes with a higher price than your cash or pay per hour price. Paying per hour leaves you open to a much higher cost at the end than anticipated.
