Stephanie Shepherdson was house-sitting in Joondalup when rats tore through her Toyota's engine bay after one stormy night — shredding insulation and chewing through wiring.

Her diesel mechanic nephew opened the bonnet and said: "My gosh, rats have been in here."

The verdict? Don't drive it — it's a fire risk. Had to be towed.
