Some people think cleaning — or running a solo cleaning business — is “easy work” or somehow not a real job.
Well… let’s break it down. 👇
20+ cleans a week, plus Airbnbs, deep cleans, office cleans, lawns and maintenance jobs.
Hours of vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, bending, lifting, making beds, carrying equipment and constantly being on your feet.
It takes skill. It takes an eye for detail. It takes organisation, reliability and a whole lot of hard work. 💪
Then you finally get home and think you’re finished for the day… except that’s when the OTHER side of running a business starts.
Invoices. Emails. Quotes. Bookings. Rosters. Messages. Following up payments. Returning calls to potential clients. Ordering supplies. Planning the next day.
Then somewhere in between all of that, you’re cooking dinner, doing washing, helping the kids and doing the whole Mum/Dad thing. 😂❤️
By the time your head finally hits the pillow, it can be 1am…
Then the alarm goes off at 5am and you get up and do it all over again.
So no — cleaning isn’t “just cleaning”.
Running a cleaning business takes physical strength, skill, attention to detail, organisation, customer service, business management and a LOT of dedication.
And while it can be absolutely exhausting, I’m incredibly proud of what ATB Cleaning & Maintenance is becoming. ❤️
There is so much more behind a small business than what you see in a before-and-after photo. 🧽✨
