Dearest Gentle Reader,
It has come to this author’s attention that our fair town is now as crowded with window cleaners as the Ton is with hopeful suitors at the Season’s opening ball.
Many arrive with charm and tempting terms, their promises delivered with confidence and modest prices. Yet, much like a courtship announced too soon, such arrangements often falter before the first formal visit. A date is set, expectations are raised, and then… no carriage appears. No word is sent. The household is left waiting, peering out the window in quiet disbelief.
Such disappointments, dear reader, are all too familiar to those who trust charm alone. For reliability, much like true affection, is not loudly proclaimed, but proven over time.
So choose wisely whom you admit beyond your gates. For while the Season may be full of introductions, it is the steady, dependable match that spares one the scandal of disappointment and delivers lasting peace of mind.
Yours in discerning observation,
The Window Cleaners
