Guys... It’s Leah here, and guess what? We FINALLY finished our bathroom Reno!
March 2025 we started the process, and the process was pretty speedy up until the painting. Then it sat there... unpainted... for about a year.
But saved the day, and we can finally share the finished look!
Now... the elephant in the room, yes... we removed the clawfoot bath.
Yes, it was beautiful, but the enamel was chipping, we couldn’t find a plug that worked and no one used it. We do also have a bath in our other bathroom (which one day we will replace with the original claw foot bath), so the decision was made... functionality over heritage.
The goal was to respect the heritage of the home, but bring it into the 21st century.
👉🏼 Patterned floor tiles were a nod to the original floors
👉🏼 We restored the original vertical timber boards and painted them the perfect green (ask Dez how many sample pots I made him get before I landed on ‘Gounded’ by Haymes)
👉🏼 Arches and curves were added in the shower screen, vanity & mirror to compliment the arches in the rest of our home
👉🏼 Gold tapware & fittings were selected to match the rest of the homes 1900’s fittings
👉🏼 We moved the toilet behind the door so it wasn’t the first thing you saw when you walked in
👉🏼 By doing that, and removing the bath, we were able to install an 1800mm shower space (Very handy for a big family)
👉🏼 Lighting carefully selected from to honour the original home too
We will share more details about our suppliers & selections soon, but for now, enjoy these Before V After photos!
