⚠️ Important Changes to Rodent Baiting Regulations ⚠️

Following the APVMA regulatory changes, Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides (SGARs) such as Contrac and Ditrac are still highly effective for treating active rodent infestations.

However, one of the biggest changes is that within 35 days of baiting, the site must now be revisited and reassessed — rather than simply replenishing bait.

This reassessment includes:
✔ Checking if bait is being consumed
✔ Confirming bait placement is effective
✔ Reviewing rodent activity levels
✔ Implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) measures such as:
• Securing food sources
• Removing harbourage areas
• Using traps and exclusion methods where required

If there is a justifiable reason to continue SGAR baiting, treatment may continue. However, if ongoing 35-day revisits are not practical, alternative non-SGAR products such as Fastrac, Selontra, or Racumin may be considered, as they are not affected by these label changes.

These changes are designed to promote more responsible rodent management while helping reduce risks to wildlife and the environment.
