Just do it, will ya!
๐ฆ๐บ CENSUS TIME IS NEAR SO PLEASE PUT THE TIN FOIL HATS AWAY PEOPLE! ๐๐ธ
Iโve seen a fair bit floating around social media lately about people saying they wonโt complete the Census or theyโre deliberately going to put the wrong information on it. ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
Iโm certainly not here to tell anyone what to think and questioning things is healthy but the Census is actually one of those things where getting the information right benefits all of us and our local community. ๐
The information collected helps build a picture of who lives in our communities and what they need. That data helps with planning for things like:
๐ฅ Hospitals and health services
๐ซ Schools and education
๐ Roads and public transport
๐ด Aged care and community services
๐ Housing and infrastructure
๐ฐ Government funding and future planning
So if thousands of people decide their household consists of 14 Jedi Knights, 3 Labradors and a bloke named Barry who lives in the shed, the data isn't exactly going to be helpful. ๐
You don't have to love the government and you don't have to agree with everything they do but when Census time comes around, just fill the bloody thing out properly. ๐ ๐๐ป
Accurate information = better information about what our communities actually need. ๐ฅฐ
It only comes around every five years, and doing your little bit helps make sure our growing communities are properly represented.
Tin foil hat can go back on afterwards. ๐ฝ๐
Do the Census. Do it properly. Then get back to arguing with strangers on Facebook. ๐๐ฆ๐บ
RANT OVER! ๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป
