💙 Today we’re resharing a video we did in support of Dolly’s Dream, and I just wanted to take a moment to reflect.
We’ve always tried to have open, honest conversations with our kids about kindness, inclusion, and how words and actions can affect others. You hope it sinks it, but you never really know how much.
This week, I was reminded that it does matter!
Our son came home and shared that he had been called “the weird kid” at school. While it wasn’t easy to hear, I was incredibly grateful that he felt safe enough to open up and talk about it with me.
It reinforced that those meaningful conversations we have with our kids sometimes small, sometimes hard are building trust, resilience, and understanding, even when we can’t see it straight away.
Bullying and exclusion can start in subtle ways, and it’s so important we keep talking, keep listening, and keep reminding our kids that they are valued and supported.
If nothing else, this is your reminder to check in with your kids, create space for honest conversations, and let them know they’re never alone 💙
