2026 marks 15 years in business for Clean Space
As I ponder...
I originally fell into cleaning as a solo mum looking for a side hustle. Back in the early days, living in our little humble cape rental, diy washing lines all over the backyard, trekking around town when my car broke down, vacuum, cleaning gear and a busy two year old crammed into the pram, I was determined. The struggle was real!
Short lived - i traded my buzz box for an suv loaded her up and became a two, three, four man team.
Fast forward five years and I officially launched Clean Space, and grew my team again.
The demand was there, and the potential to grow was something I couldn’t ignore.
5am starts.
Seven days a week.
Summers that rolled on late nights on call... and it hasn't stopped since!
Today, I’m incredibly blessed—with a beautiful home, a dedicated office/workstation, a gorgeous teenager who understands the value of hard work (and yes that comes with an ever-growing summer pay rise), and a wonderfully supportive partner who is an expert in vacuum servicing and folding linen in his spare time -while running his own business xx
Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some amazing clients. I’ve lost some dear to my heart, and I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime.
To every team member who has come and gone—you’ve saved my back more times than you know, and this business simply wouldn’t have survived without you.
At the end of every summer, you’ll hear me say, “I think this will be my last.”
But if I’m honest—I hate standing still. I love the rush, busy is me! Accounting just isn’t my style (I tried)
I’m an active worker in this business, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Each year i grow a little wiser in business and
as I look ahead to 2026, the theme this year is
I run this business—it doesn’t run me!
It’s time to breathe, balance and take a slight step back - ( I'm still here) and hand a bit more of the load to my perfectly capable team.
