πŸ˜‚ MIDWEEK HUMOUR WEDNESDAY πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜… YES... WE DO THE "THE IN-LAWS ARE COMING" CLEANS πŸ˜…

It usually starts with a message...
πŸ“± "Hi Hayley. Just wondering. Any chance you've got something available this week? The in-laws are coming..." πŸ˜‚

Sometimes it's...
🏑 The in-laws.
πŸŽ„ Christmas & other festivities.
πŸŽ‚ Birthday parties.
✈️ Visitors from interstate.
🏠 House inspections.
πŸ‘Ά New baby arriving.
πŸŽ‰ A family gathering...or sometimes...
"I've finally had enough of looking at it!" πŸ€ͺ

❀️ The truth?
I genuinely love these cleans.
There's something really satisfying about helping someone hit the reset button before life gets busy or guests arrive.

No judgement.
No pressure.
No embarrassment.
Just one less thing on your plate.
And if you've left it until the last minute...
Trust me...
You're definitely not the first. πŸ˜‚

Sometimes guests arrive before we get to those bigger monthly, quarterly or yearly jobs that we'd normally factor into your regular weekly or fortnightly routine.
Life happens.
I've been there too.
That's exactly why, when I can, I make myself available outside my usual roster to offer a handful of casual solo appointments.
They're designed for those moments when you just need an extra pair of hands before the doorbell rings.

These appointments are generally:
🫧 Wednesday afternoons
🫧 Thursday afternoons
🫧 Saturday mornings (weekend rates apply)

They're completed by me personally, outside my usual team hours, because I completely understand that sometimes life throws you a curveball.

If you can give me as much notice as possible, I'll always do my very best to fit you in and help get everything back under control.

πŸ‘‡ Be honest...
Who is most likely to trigger the panic clean at your house?
πŸ˜‚ Mother-in-law?
πŸ˜‚ Your own mum?
πŸ˜‚ Friends dropping in?
πŸ˜‚ Nobody... you live dangerously! 🀣

β˜•οΈ WELCOME INSIDE MY HOME 🏑

Here's another quirky little thing I do around my house... πŸ˜„

If you've got old-fashioned light switches like mine, don't just switch the lights on... use them to display your favourite necklaces too!

Instead of leaving these two tucked away in a jewellery box, they hang on my light switch where I get to enjoy it every day.
It's practical... It's a little bit quirky... And it adds a touch of personality to an otherwise ordinary corner of the house.

I've always believed creating a home you love isn't about spending lots of money.

Sometimes it's simply looking at everyday things a little differently.

So while you're wandering around the house with your Saturday morning coffee... β˜•οΈ
Take a look around.
Is there something you've been using for one purpose that could have a second life somewhere else?

I'd love to see your quirky little home hacks share them in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Happy Saturday!

πŸ’š FRIYAY FEELS... πŸ₯°
Celebrating Independence & New Beginnings ❀️

🌿 A LITTLE FOLLOW-UP TO MY LAST POST...
Last week I shared that support work is often so much more than "just shopping."

Today, I have some wonderful news.
One of the people I've had the privilege of supporting has reached a point where they no longer need me to assist with their regular shopping and budgeting.

And honestly...

That's something worth celebrating. ❀️

Over time we've worked together on budgeting, planning ahead, making informed choices, building confidence and creating sustainable routines.

Now they're confidently managing their own grocery shopping, budgeting independently, and have even achieved one of their personal financial goals, saving enough to enjoy what will hopefully be quarterly holidays for themselves.

For me, that's what success in support work looks like.

The goal has never been to create dependence.

The goal has always been to build confidence, independence and the skills for someone to live the life they want.

Watching someone reach that point is incredibly rewarding, and I'm so proud of everything they've achieved through their own hard work and determination.

As one chapter closes, it also means I now have capacity to support someone new.

🧑 Support Work Availability – commencing September

If those times and days dont work reach out and I'll see what I can make work for you.

If you, a family member, or someone you know is looking for practical, person-centred support with things such as:
πŸ›’ Shopping and budgeting
πŸ“… Routine building and life skills
🏑 Home and community access
πŸš— Transport to appointments and activities
🌱 Building confidence and independence

I'd love to have the conversations to see if we're a right fit.

Every person's journey is different.

And there's nothing more rewarding than helping someone realise they're capable of more than they ever imagined.

πŸ€– SEASONAL LIVING THURSDAY

I'M NOT AFRAID OF ROBOTS... I'VE LEARNT TO WORK ALONGSIDE THEM.

Every now and then someone asks me...
"Aren't you worried robot vacuums will replace cleaners?"
Or...
"Can we skip the vacuuming and mopping now that I've got a robot?"
Honestly?
Not at all.
In fact...
I often recommend robot vacuums to my clients.
If one of my regular clients has a robot vacuum running every day between my visits, that's a win.
It helps keep on top of everyday dust, crumbs, pet hair and all those little bits that build up from daily living.

Which means when I arrive...
I get to spend more time doing what a robot can't.

I'll often simply turn the robot on and work alongside it while it's vacuuming or mopping.
That frees me up to focus on:
βœ”οΈ Moving furniture out of corners and spaces so the robot can fit.
βœ”οΈ Cleaning behind and underneath furniture.
βœ”οΈ Washing skirting boards.
βœ”οΈ Removing cobwebs.
βœ”οΈ Cleaning walls.
βœ”οΈ Dusting.
βœ”οΈ Wiping fingerprints from light switches, door frames and cupboard fronts.
βœ”οΈ Scrubbing grout that robots don't clean.
βœ”οΈ Descaling shower screens.
βœ”οΈ Detailing bathrooms.
βœ”οΈ Unclogging shower drains.
βœ”οΈ Cleaning window tracks., mirrors, glass...
βœ”οΈ Giving attention to all those little places that quietly build up over time.

A robot doesn't notice the toothpaste splatter on the wall.
It doesn't wipe fingerprints off the fridge.
It won't move items to vacuum behind them.
It doesn't dust your shelves.
And it certainly isn't unclogging your shower drain. πŸ˜‚

Technology has always changed the way we work.

Vacuum cleaners replaced brooms.
Microfibre cloths replaced old rags.
Cordless vacuums replaced dragging cords from room to room.

Now robot vacuums are simply becoming another tool in the toolbox.

The future isn't about humans versus robots.
It's about knowing which jobs are best done by each.

For me, that's exciting.
Because the more everyday maintenance a robot can help with, the more time I have to focus on the detailed work that truly transforms a home.

At the end of the day...
People don't hire me because I know how to vacuum.

They hire me because I notice the things that need doing, understand how a home and their home functions, and help keep their whole home system running smoothly.

That's what Home Systems is all about.

Creating homes that work smarter, not harder.

Using the right tool for the right job.

Whether that tool is a robot vacuum...
Or a cleaner who knows exactly where the robot can't reach.

πŸ’š Home Systems. 🩡 Routine. 🧑 Support. 🀍 Lifestyle.

Would I recommend a robot vacuum?
Absolutely.
In fact, I recommend them all the time.
Would I swap my job for one?
Not a chance. πŸ˜‚
Because a robot can clean a floor...
But it takes a person to understand a home and all the seasons.

πŸ˜‚ MIDWEEK HUMOUR WEDNESDAY πŸ˜‚

🧺 THE WASHING MACHINE FINISHED YESTERDAY... 🧺

Quick question...
How long has the washing been sitting or sat in your machine? πŸ˜‚

Let's be honest...
πŸ•˜ It finishes.
🧺 You remember.
"I'll hang that out in a minute."
Then...
Life happens.
School pickup.
Dinner.
Work.
The dog.
The kids.
Netflix.
Sleep.
The next morning...
You open the machine...
🀨
"Does that smell..."
"...or am I imagining it?"
You close the door.
Pretend nothing happened.
Then...
Run the whole cycle again. πŸ˜‚

❀️ The truth?
Every household has done it.
More than once.
Sometimes the washing wins.
Sometimes life wins.
And that's okay.

No judgement.
Just real homes.
Real people.
Real life.

πŸ‘‡ Tell me...
How many times have you rewashed the same load?
πŸ˜‚ Once?
πŸ˜‚ Twice?
πŸ˜‚ You've lost count?

🚽 HOME SYSTEMS TUESDAY... AKA TOILET TUESDAY πŸ˜‚

MY FAVOURITE TOILET BRUSH... (Yep, I said it.)

People often ask what my favourite cleaning products are.
Sometimes they're surprised by the answer.
It's not an expensive chemical.
It's not a fancy gadget.
It's the everyday toilet brush.

Hear me out...

One of the biggest mistakes I see is people hiding their toilet brush away in holders that collect water, get dirty themselves and, let's be honest... aren't exactly attractive.

A simple toilet brush sitting inside a plain waterproof pot with a little scented disinfectant.
Nothing fancy.
Nothing expensive.
But because it looks neat and belongs in the room, it doesn't feel like something I want to hide.
And because it's always there...
It gets used.
Little and often beats waiting until the toilet needs a full scrub.

That's the whole philosophy behind Home Systems.
Remove the barriers.
Make good habits easier.

Whether it's keeping a spray bottle under the sink or on a ledge, storing your vacuum where you can grab it in seconds, or having a toilet brush that's actually pleasant to look at...

The easier something is to use, the more likely you'll use it.
That's how routines are built.
Not through motivation.
Through systems.

πŸ’š MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY πŸ’š

YOUR HOME REFLECTS YOUR CAPACITY... NOT YOUR CHARACTER.

One thing I wish more people understood is this...

A messy home isn't a measure of someone's character.

Sometimes it's simply a reflection of what life has asked of them lately.

Maybe they're working every spare hour just to keep a roof over their family's head.

Maybe they're raising young children.

Maybe they're caring for ageing parents.

Maybe they're living with chronic pain.

Maybe they're grieving.

Maybe they're battling anxiety or depression.

Or maybe...

They're simply exhausted.

We often look at someone's home and see dishes, washing, toys, paperwork or clutter.

What we don't see are the invisible loads they're carrying every single day.

One piece of advice I often give people is...

It's okay to do nothing.

Seriously.

If your body or your mind is telling you it's time to rest, sometimes the most productive thing you can do is exactly that.

And if you're worried about unexpected visitors...

Just hang a few "Get Well Soon" cards around the house.

Dust them every now and then...

Rotate them every couple of weeks...

People will just assume you've been unwell for ages. 😜

Humour aside...

We put so much pressure on ourselves to have everything looking perfect before anyone walks through our front door.

The people who genuinely care about you aren't coming to inspect your skirting boards, judge your washing pile or check whether you've vacuumed this week.

They're coming to see you.

That's one of the reasons I started Hailz Rain & Shine.

Yes, I clean homes.

But more importantly...

I help people find their footing again.

Sometimes all someone needs is a reset.

Not because they've failed.

Not because they're lazy.

But because life has been heavy for a while.

One load of washing.

One sink.

One kitchen bench.

One room.

One small step.

Progress has never been about perfection.

It's about creating enough breathing room to make tomorrow feel just a little easier than today.

So if your house isn't looking like something from a magazine right now...

Please remember...

Your home reflects your current capacity.

It does not define your character.

Be kind to yourself this week.

Small steps still move you forward.

And if today all you managed to do was rest...

Maybe that's exactly what your body needed.

That counts too. πŸ’š

β˜€οΈ WEEKEND ADVENTURES β˜€οΈ

❀️ One of My Favourite Sunday Rituals...

If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I have a bit of a weakness...
🎢 Music.
πŸͺ΄ Plants.
πŸ›οΈ Second-hand treasures.
✨ Vintage finds.
♻️ Reducing β€’ Reusing β€’ Recycling β€’ Repurposing

So a Sunday morning wander through the Mt Gravatt Markets is pretty much my happy place. For me, it's Brisbane's last true old-school flea market. Everything else seems to have evolved into artisan, craft or boutique markets, which are wonderful in their own right but there's something special about still being able to rummage through genuine second-hand treasures every Sunday.

This week the atmosphere was fantastic, with local musicians filling the markets with the sounds of the saxophone, harmonica, guitar and plenty of good tunes. There's something special about wandering through second-hand stalls while live music plays in the background. Even though it's a relatively small market, it does an incredible job of bringing together local growers, makers, musicians and sellers. It makes you slow down, take your time and simply enjoy the morning.

I couldn't resist bringing home this gorgeous vintage record case. ❀️ As someone who loves collecting music and creating little corners of personality around my home, this one was an easy "yes."

Of course... I never leave without visiting the plant and fruit & veggie stalls either. 🌿

The girls (my feathered girls πŸ”) scored their usual fresh bunches of herbs to peck through and enjoy, while I came home with two little rosemary plants for just $6. Absolute bargain!

One thing I've also loved seeing lately is more young people setting up stalls and having a go. It's fantastic seeing a younger generation embracing markets, both as buyers and sellers.
Maybe being a hipster isn't so bad after all... although I'm not sure I qualify. The things I love were old before vintage became trendy. πŸ˜†

Sometimes supporting local isn't about buying what you need.
It's about wandering.
Listening to live music and throwing a few coins into a musician's case.
Finding something with a story.
Supporting someone else's passion.
And heading home with treasures you simply couldn't find in a shopping centre.

🀫 CLEANER CONFESSIONS

WHY DOES ONE PERSON NEED SO MANY VACUUMS?

Because every tool has a purpose.

🧹 My cordless stick vacuum Daily quick cleans. Perfect for crumbs. Grab-and-go.

πŸ›ž My bagged vacuum When I want maximum suction. Great for carpets. Two turbo heads plus a mini turbo head for pet hair. Different attachments for different jobs.

πŸ€– Robot vacuum Keeps on top of everyday maintenance. Works while I'm doing something else.

πŸ’¨ Steam mop For hard floors when I want a deeper sanitising clean.

πŸ’¦ Vax SpotWash Perfect for unexpected spills, upholstery, rugs, mattresses and spot cleaning before stains have a chance to set.

♨️ Handheld steam cleaner Brilliant for grout, shower tracks, taps, kitchens, bathrooms, cars and all those fiddly little places that are difficult to reach.

πŸͺ£ Mops & buckets Sometimes nothing beats the classics. Different systems for different homes and different jobs.

🧼 Flat pad mop Perfect for quick maintenance cleans between deeper cleans.

🧹 Indoor & outdoor brooms Different bristles for different surfaces.

πŸͺ₯ Dustpan & brush Because not everything needs plugging in... and once again, sometimes the classics are still the best.

Notice something?

Not one tool replaces another.

They all have a job.

That's exactly how I look at a home... and actually, support and life in general.

Home & Life Systems aren't about finding one magic product, organisation or person.

They're about understanding what each tool does well...
..and choosing the right one for the right job, at the right time.

That's what Home Systems is all about.

πŸ₯Š FRIYAY... Sometimes the Best Therapy Wears Boxing Gloves.

One thing I've learnt over the years is that motivation comes and goes.
Discipline is what stays.

Whether it's looking after our homes, properties, lives, work, businesses, getting through life's challenges, or looking after our mental health, the biggest changes rarely happen because we feel like showing up.
They happen because we do.
Again. And again. And again.

One place that's become part of our routine here is Carina Boxing Shed with Beau and the team.
Walking through the doors, you quickly realise it isn't just about boxing.
It's about community.
It's about becoming part of a boxing family.
It's about commitment.
It's about consistency.
It's about discipline.
It's about respect.
It's about fitness.
It's about resilience.
It's about proving to yourself that you can do hard things, even on the days you don't feel like it.

As someone who talks a lot about mental health, routines and building healthy habits, I genuinely believe movement is one of the best investments we can make in ourselves.
One thing that's been really encouraging lately is seeing the club continue to grow.

More local families are discovering it, and it's been wonderful to see so many more children and teenagers (the next generation) coming through the doors, building confidence, learning discipline and becoming part of such a supportive community.

In a world full of screens and distractions, it's refreshing to see young people choosing to challenge themselves, encourage one another and put in the work.

I've always believed good routines build good habits, and good habits build resilient people.

If you've been thinking about trying something different for yourself, or for someone in your family, I genuinely recommend having a chat with Beau.

Like many small business owners, especially those of us who are hands-on all day, we don't always get back to our phones as quickly as we'd like. So if you're nearby, don't be afraid to pop into the gym, have a look around, introduce yourself and ask about trying one of the free trial sessions.

πŸ₯Š Afternoon & evening classes: Monday to Thursday
πŸ₯Š Saturday morning sessions
πŸ’² $450 per school term
πŸ“ Carina Boxing Shed (located on the side of Carina Leagues Football field)
πŸ“ž 0473 862 626

If you do get along, tell Beau Hayley from Hailz Rain & Shine sent you. 😊

Sometimes the best therapy isn't found on a couch...
Sometimes it's found by walking through a gym door, putting on a pair of gloves, simply showing up, and owning exactly where you're at.

Happy FriYay everyone. πŸ’šπŸ₯Š
