Thermal fogging after a fire loss helps treat smoke odour in areas that cleaning alone cannot reach.

In this video, the ceiling and damaged materials have already been removed, exposing the timber framing, roof cavity and wall cavities. The thermal fog is then applied through these areas, recreating the way smoke originally moved and penetrated the structure.

This allows the deodorising fog to reach cavities, gaps and porous materials where smoke odour can remain trapped.

Thermal fogging is not a shortcut. It should be used after source removal, cleaning and decontamination, and in some cases may be followed by encapsulation to lock in any remaining odour.

Watch how its done in action on the next post.

Fire damage goes far beyond what’s visible on the surface.

Even after the flames are extinguished, smoke, soot, and odours can continue to affect your property, penetrating walls, ceilings, furnishings, and contents. Without proper restoration, these contaminants can cause ongoing damage and impact indoor air quality.

At CRSA, our fire restoration process involves more than just cleaning visible damage. We assess affected areas, remove soot and debris, deodorise surfaces and contents, and carry out restoration works to help return the property to a safe and habitable condition.

Every fire loss is different, which is why a fast and professional response is so important in helping minimise secondary damage and begin the recovery process sooner.

Our team understands that fire damage can be an overwhelming experience, and we’re committed to supporting our clients through the restoration process with care, professionalism, and clear communication from start to finish.

Compassionate service. Thorough restoration. 🔥

Next up in our Equipment Breakdown Series: Airmovers 💨

Airmovers are one of the most important pieces of equipment used throughout water damage restoration works.

These high-powered units are designed to circulate large volumes of air across wet surfaces including carpets, flooring, walls, cabinetry, and structural materials. By increasing airflow, they help accelerate evaporation and significantly reduce drying times.

The faster affected materials can be dried, the lower the risk of secondary damage such as swelling, warping, delamination, and mould growth.

Airmovers are typically used alongside dehumidifiers to create the optimal drying environment and ensure moisture is removed as efficiently as possible.

At CRSA, we use specialised restoration equipment and monitoring processes to help ensure properties are dried thoroughly and correctly, not just visually dry on the surface.

Stay tuned as we continue breaking down the equipment used across water, fire, and mould restoration works. 💧🔥🦠

Mould isn’t always obvious but the impacts it can have on your property and health can be significant.

Mould growth can occur after water damage, leaks, excess humidity, poor ventilation, or even hidden moisture behind walls and flooring. In many cases, what’s visible on the surface is only part of the problem.

Aside from causing damage to building materials and contents, mould can also affect indoor air quality and contribute to respiratory issues, allergies, and unpleasant odours within the home or workplace.

At CRSA, our mould remediation process focuses on more than simply removing visible mould. We identify the source of the moisture, contain affected areas to reduce cross-contamination, and carry out professional remediation works to help restore a safer and healthier environment.

If you suspect mould in your property, early action can help minimise further damage and reduce the risk of it spreading.

Safe spaces. Healthier homes. 🏠

Introducing our Equipment Breakdown Series

Over the coming weeks we’ll be taking a closer look at some of the specialised equipment used throughout water damage restoration and mould remediation works, what it does, why we use it, and why it’s such an important part of the restoration process.

First up: Air Filtration Devices (AFDs) 🌬️

Also commonly known as HEPA air scrubbers, AFDs are designed to capture airborne particles including mould spores, dust, debris, and other contaminants during remediation works.

These units play a critical role in helping improve indoor air quality and reducing the risk of cross-contamination to unaffected areas while restoration works are being carried out.

When dealing with mould remediation especially, controlling what’s in the air is just as important as treating the affected materials themselves.

At CRSA, using the right equipment means creating a safer, cleaner environment while ensuring restoration works are completed to the highest standard.

Stay tuned as we break down more of the equipment we use every day across water, fire, and mould restoration works. 💧🔥🦠

Grout lines trap dirt that regular mopping can’t remove.

Over time, this build-up leaves tiles looking dull and discoloured, even when they’re clean on the surface.

This before and after shows the difference a proper deep clean can make.

We use professional equipment to lift the dirt from deep within the grout, leaving your floors looking lighter and refreshed.
