🚫 You Can’t Fog Mould Away 🚫

One of the biggest misconceptions in our industry is that fogging “kills” mould and solves the problem. It doesn’t. ❌

Our elderly client had previously paid for a fogging treatment after mould issues throughout her home. Instead, she was left with a residue on surfaces while dust and contamination remained throughout the property. 😔

🧪 Independent laboratory testing later confirmed mycotoxin-producing moulds. Working alongside Community Recovery, we developed a realistic, standards-based remediation plan focused on what actually works.

The ANSI/IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mould Remediation is clear, the objective is physical removal of mould contamination, not simply attempting to kill it. Dead mould spores and contaminated dust can still impact indoor air quality and occupant health.

Fogging alone:
❌ Doesn’t remove contamination.
❌ Doesn’t remove settled spores or contaminated dust.
❌ Doesn’t replace detailed cleaning and HEPA filtration.

If fogging is used at all, it should only be considered after physical removal as a supplementary step—not as the remediation itself. ✅

🚨 Hidden Water Damage. Visible Results. 💧🏡

What looked like a modern bathroom concealed a much bigger problem behind the walls.

Following reports of water damage, our team carried out a comprehensive moisture and mould assessment to identify the source, determine the extent of the damage, and provide the owner with a clear, professional plan to restore the property.

Once approved, we established critical containment to protect unaffected areas, commenced controlled demolition of non salvageable materials, completed structural drying, and remediated all affected areas in accordance with industry best practice.

The hidden damage had extended beyond the bathroom into the adjoining bedroom and toilet, highlighting why visible damage is often only a small part of the problem.

Common causes we uncover include:

🏡 Another Successful M**hamphetamine Decontamination & Property Restoration Completed 🏡

This property underwent laboratory testing which confirmed contamination levels consistent with likely heavy methamphetamine use within the dwelling. Through our comprehensive decontamination and restoration process, we successfully returned the property to a safe and habitable condition.

🚧 When a concealed shower leak turns into a major remediation project… 🚧

What started as a mould remediation job quickly escalated when we discovered the original yellow tongue flooring had completely rotted away due to a hidden shower leak.

As we peeled back the layers, we found not one, not two, but three layers of flooring — and to make things even more interesting, there was 2 inches of concrete upstairs! 🤣

Our team installed full containment, negative air pressure and HEPA filtration to safely carry out remediation works while protecting the rest of the home.
