Hi, I’m Fran, the founder of Tried and True Cleaners.

In my seven years of cleaning, I’ve always had amazing clients. I’ve thrice been asked in conspiratorial whisper, “What do you use on the floors? Because… my child likes licking them”. Often they tell hilarious stories, and sometimes stories of previous cleaners. One told me of coming home early to find her cleaners out the front washing their own cars. Friends have told me of giving up after a year of fruitless searching for a decent cleaner.

Integrity is the solution to an industry-wide problem.

Companies can’t keep quality cleaners. As I discovered a host of loyal clients, and as they recommended me to their friends, earning $23 per hour whilst the company charged over double for my time made no sense. I really appreciated my company, and particularly my old boss, so don’t get me wrong. There’s a place for a company, else I wouldn’t have started one. What Tried and True Cleaners does differently is that after 50 cleans, the contract belongs to the cleaner. This means that those who deliver well, who gain your trust and maintain it, will then be paid the full amount for their work. The benefits of this approach allows you to find highly qualified and trustworthy cleaners, and allows these hard workers to find an excellent client base.

Working for us looks like flexibility. You choose the times and hours that you are available. This is ideal for stay-at-home parents students or for a second job.

Thank you to everyone for your feedback. What I thought was a competitive pay rate is outdated since COVID. As a result, our contractors will begin at $30/hour with a $5 raise when you get referrals. When you have cleaned for a client 50 times, we then consider that client contract yours - you will be earning the full $50/hour. As you can see, we heavily reward those who can keep their clients happy over time.

What we need from our contractors is:
- Trustworthiness. You show up when you say you will. You have a police check. You work when no one is looking.

- Skill in organic cleaning. You know how to clean, you know how to do it quickly. You don't use harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia.

Organic cleaning is a niche field, so let us know if you would like training.
