It's not just for babies anymore.

We've had quite a few questions about our Oats & Chamomile Soap.

At the moment, you'll find it in our catalogue as Oats & Chamomile Baby Soap, but it'll soon be renamed simply Oats & Chamomile Soap.

While it was originally formulated with the littlest Roodts in mind, it quickly became a favourite for the whole family. Its simple, gentle formula makes it a beautiful everyday soap for babies, children, and adults alike especially those who prefer a mild, comforting cleanse.

Sometimes the best products outgrow their names.

Funny how things come full circle...

We remember sharing our DIY Boer-Gel recipe years ago, back when hardly anyone was talking about it. These days it's everywhere, and we absolutely love seeing more people discovering this old-school favourite.

But here's the question...
Why spend loads on pre-made Boer-Gel when you can make 4–5 litres yourself for just R54?

One bar of Boerseep + hot water = a bucket of biodegradable, plastic-free cleaning gel that's perfect for laundry, dishes, stains and around the home.
Sometimes the best hacks are still the simplest ones.

Have you made your own Boer-Gel yet, or are you still buying it ready-made? 👇

DIY BOER-GEL (4–5L)
Save this recipe for later.

You'll need:
1 bar Roodt Boerseep, finely grated
4–5 litres boiling water
Optional: A few drops of your favourite essential oil
Method:
Finely grate the entire bar of Boerseep.
Place the grated soap into a 5L bucket.
Pour 4–5 litres of boiling water over the soap.
Stir well until completely dissolved. (A stick blender can speed up the process.)
Add essential oil if desired.
Leave overnight to cool and thicken into a rich gel.
How to use:
Laundry: Use 100–200ml per load, directly into the washing machine drum.
Also suitable for dishes, stain removal, floors, and general household cleaning.
Makes approximately 4–5 litres for around R54.

Calamine is a gentle age-old antipruritic (anti-itching agent) used to soothe mild irritation and inflammation of the skin caused by conditions such as rashes, eczema, insect bites and stings, poison ivy cradle cap, psoriasis chickenpox and acne, by giving soothing relief to the itch, and inflammation.

This calamine bar also contains coconut milk which is packed with vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5, and B6 as well as iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus which makes it extremely gentle and nourishing for those with specific skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and acne.
