Most of us don’t realise the importance of when is the best time to wash our vehicle. We often think it is a good idea to wash our vehicles on a sunny day. Well, that is not always correct.
On a sunny day the body of our vehicles is very hot if it has been standing in the sun. The body should be rinsed off with cold water, so that it can cool down. If you do not do this, you will be using more products or water to wash the vehicle. This is due to the products or water dissolving easily from the sun or because of the hot body of the vehicle.
The best weather to wash your vehicle is mostly cloudy or not to sunny weather. It all depends on where you live. Your approach and the products you use will also differ in effectiveness when used in very humid areas to dry, inland areas.
Here are some tips for the best times and weather to have your vehicle washed:
• Wash your vehicle in a cool area and out of direct sunlight
• Wash your vehicle in the morning before the temperature peaks
• Late afternoon is also a good time, especially to have a shiny clean vehicle for a sunset drive.
• Also try and avoid washing your vehicle in very windy weather, as the water and products will tend to evaporate before being effective.
Following these tips will deliver the best result when washing our vehicles and prevent damage to the vehicle. Products react differently then used at temperatures higher than the recommended. This could cause sun damage to the protective coat of the vehicle.
Most of us think sunny days are the best weather to wash our vehicle. There are consequences to washing your vehicle in the heat and could cause damage to the vehicle over the years. So protect your vehicle from sun damages by washing it in the shade and rinse the body off with cold water before you start.
