Whistle Steam Cleaners was established in 1973 and provides “on-site” carpet and upholstery cleaning services to the Helderberg Basin as well as to Stellenbosch and Grabouw. We also offer a walk-in service at our factory premises on the corner of Sergeant and Victoria streets, Somerset West, where clients can bring loose
rugs, carpets and/or furniture to be cleaned. Alternatively, we also offer a collection service for carpets/rugs and furniture. Over the years, we have developed a system that has proved very successful in the cleaning of Persian, Chinese, Dhurrie and Kelim rugs - in fact any number of Exotic or Oriental rugs. Our clients include local Persian carpet suppliers as well as some from outside of the Helderberg Basin. We found ourselves doing a large number of motor car interior valets (seats and carpets) and so have now introduced a car valet service to the company. We wash and polish the car’s body work as well as steam clean the seats and carpets. Should the client require, we also provide transport to and from the factory within the Helderberg Basin. Due to popular demand, in 2008, we introduced a rental scheme for our carpet cleaning machines. Unfortunately you cannot rent our experience, for that you must make use of our on-site cleaning service. Our on-site cleaning teams are trained to deal with most cleaning problems including the lifting of wet carpets due to flooding or burst geysers etc. Over the years some short term insurers have asked us to provide this service. Without our dedicated staff, we would just be another carpet cleaning business. Our 8 permanent staff members, who collectively have 56 years’ service between them, assist us in providing a quality facility to our customers. Our factory foreman Jannie has been with us for more than 10 years and there are not many cleaning problems he has not had to deal with in that time.
