This craft work is a natural product from Africa. The idea of the Africa Map started during a holiday in Zim when we got lost on a dirt road in a wilderness area. On this dirt road, we came upon a young boy who was slaughtering a Nguni calf that had died because of the drought. We realized that the skin of the calf was something extraordinary. I immediately thought of what Wilbur Smith wrote. "There are heroes and there are monsters, but the rest of us are just mortal human beings left with the ashes of a once beautiful land". It was on that day in Zim that I decided to make the Nguni calf skin my own symbol. Its not always possible but I tried my best still to add a piece in every clock.

When purchasing this product, you may rest assured that yours is unique, as all art should be. These clocks (maps) can be found all over the world in private collections and at exclusive retailers.
