But it’s just another year. Dates change, things don’t”

But maybe dates change to remind us just the opposite- that things can change. That endings aren’t always sad, that maybe things end to give space to new, more beautiful beginnings. I guess New years are here to remind us to be hopeful to a fault. No matter how sulky you are or how much you flinch at the excitement of your friends over the arrival of “yet another” year, there is always a part of you that feels full of hope, that closes your eyes and makes you pray for all things beautiful. Let this be your reminder that good things are just around the corner, that you can always start over, that you don’t have to let the excitement of that little kid inside you die just because things didn’t turn out the way you expected them to. Let your inner child write as many resolutions as it wants to, no matter how unrealistic they seem. Play the music a little loud today, send a heartfelt message to the ones who make your little world a worthwhile place and don’t forget to hope. You can be everything you’ve ever wanted to be and you can begin just about now.
