This weeks feature car at AMR Automotive this cool looking Kia Rio

The owner came to us wanting scratches removed and the car protected. We wet sanded all the problematic areas as much as we felt would be safe to still maintain the appropriate microns on the clear coat. We followed that up with a 2 stage cut and polish to bring back that shine.

To finish off we did a full exterior detail and 2 year ceramic coating to protect our work from the elements. The paint will now be protected and much easier to maintain.

This week’s feature on AMR is this absolutely beautiful P-Series

Brand new out the box the owner wanted to make sure new ride was well protected and have that peace of mind while enjoying many happy miles with his new truck. We started off with a full decon wash to make sure the surface was free of any dealer applied waxes or oils, this step is absolutely vital to ensure our coating will adhere and last it’s full lifespan.

After making sure everything is spotless we went in with our ceramic coating applying it to absolutely every surface from front to back, including wheels, glass, grills and bodywork. While the coating cured we went around the whole vehicle applying our plastic protection and restoring some of the plastics that got stained along its short life.

To say the owner was happy with the results is a understatement, saying that we at AMR are also extremely pleased with what was achieved and this vehicle will now be protected for the future.

This week’s feature must be one of my favourites so far, I might be a bit biased but you tell me.

This future classic is a 1989 Honda VFR400 NC30, the owner of this particular one has done a lot of work to get it to the condition it is right now, so with all the work that has been put into this beauty we had to make sure it would be protected while tearing up the streets.

We started as always with a good decon wash followed up by some correction and refinement of the paint work, the soft plastics proved a challenge but nothing we haven’t dealt with before.

After another wash and clean up we applied a 2 year ceramic coating for protection and left it to cure overnight.

Overall we achieved exactly what we set out to do which was to give the owner piece of mind that this beautifully restored bike will be protected and always look good.

Sneak preview of this week’s feature at AMR Automotive, why ceramic? This is why…….

This week at AMR Automotive we dived back into some detailing work on this workhorse, the owners came to us to see what we could save before making a decision on repainting a few panels.

As with every car we started off with a good clean up to see what we are working with, we found the usual love marks and surface scratches that are common on workhorses.

We then did a 2 stage polish with some corrections done on some of the deeper scratches to bring back that mirror finish. But in the detailing world sometimes you can’t save every panel, unfortunately after trying every trick we have and getting some advise from our good friend and mentor The Auto Care Guy it was clear that the bonnet was just to far gone.

After a final wash to remove any residue left behind in the polishing process we dressed up the plastics made sure the glass is crystal clear and applied a graphine wax for some protection.

Overall the results were great and the remaining paint is now protected and preserved

A big thank you to Morne for the advise and help to make sure we get the absolute best out of the paintwork

AMR is back in action with a new challenge and new experience.

This Suzuki Swift came in for a 2 stage package with correction work on both bumpers, bonnet, roof and tailgate.

The goal was to remove the damage done by a vinyl graphic put on by the previous owner. After 3 stages of sanding followed up by compounding we managed the remove the lines etched into the surface of the clearcoat. Unfortunately things don't always go to plan and for this little Suzuki that was the case, even with all our correction done there was still a noticeable colour difference where the graphics use to be.

In detailing sometimes you need to understand when to make a call to not go any futher to prevent damage, its not always about perfection but also preservation.

With the polish work completed we detailed the exterior and applied a wax protective coating to keep that shine looking great.

When it comes to project cars i just can't help but get involved simply for the love of cars.

This Opel Astra has been an on going project for its owner Chris for a while and AMR has been itching to get our hands on this one.

The car was resprayed a few months back and even though the results were good the final finish left more to be desired.

AMR stepped in with a 2 stage polish and some paint correction on the bootlid, the entire car was given extra attention with our favorite 3000 grit disks before we started the correction process.

After a few hours we finally achieved the results we have been waiting for. This beauty will be going in to storage for a while so we did a simple 1 year spray on ceramic to protect the fresh finish.

As a car guy I always love seeing other project cars get to the final stages and owners achieving their goals, thank you to the owner Chris for making us a part of this build.

Who says work trucks can't shine!

This little work truck came to AMR to refresh the paint and give it a new lease on life.

After years of hard work the paint was faded and had clear signs of poor washing. The goal was simple, improve the look of the paint without removing to much as the truck will still be used for commercial work.

We did a simple 1 step process and did a thorough detail all around the truck, a quick refresh of the headlights and dressing around the truck it certainly looks the part. With the paint all cleaned up a good maintenance plan will keep this truck looking good.

We definitely enjoyed working on this odd ball detail and look forward to the next one.

AMR to the rescue!!!

We've been waiting a while to do one of these here at AMR, why you ask? Because everyone loves a good 50/50 shot.

We got called out to see if we can being some life back into this unique little corsa. The single stage paint had oxidized on the surface forming a skin of dead paint, fortunately we were able to remove this skin with a single stage polish exposing all the fresh paint underneat.

We then did a quick exterior detail and she was ready for her close ups. We really enjoyed working on this one and achieving a massive transformation.
