Noting that Grahamstown had a desperate need for efficient refuse removal and that very few people in Grahamstown recycled, nor were aware of recycling channels, eco-conscious St. John Ritchie decided to open Eco Bin Solutions in an attempt to combat the poor state of Grahamstown's refuse removal and waste management. John Ritchie and the Eco Bin Solutions Team strive to provide their clients with;

We endeavour to run a well-managed waste transfer station that all our members can be proud of.
4. Recycling
Once we have sorted the waste, we deliver it to the relevant recycling channels. All organic waste is then kept and used to make compost. This compost is then given back to our clients, when ready and available. In addition to this, our company donates a portion of our profits to various charities in and around Grahamstown and has taken on the cleaning of the local fresh water spring, thus aiding in the upliftment of Grahamstown as a whole. Eco Bin Solutions, although founded by St, John Ritchie and managed by the Ritchie family, has hired only local staff, as we believe in bettering all aspects of Grahamstown, which includes unemployment and poverty. Being passionate about recycling, Eco Bin Solutions has also encouraged various schools to engage in recycling programmes in order to educate our youth and to ensure a more eco-conscious future for Grahamstown.
