WORKPLACE COMPLIANCE IS UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT

A recent national inspection blitz by the Department of Employment and Labour has highlighted a concerning level of workplace non-compliance in South Africa.

According to a report by EWN, Only 3 of the 114 workplaces inspected were found to be fully compliant with labour legislation.

The Department has raised serious concerns that non-compliance is becoming embedded in workplace culture, with some employers reportedly choosing to risk penalties rather than proactively meeting their legal obligations.

For employers, this should serve as an important reminder: Compliance should not start when an inspector arrives at your premises.
