Today was another productive and rewarding day for the We Care Lydenburg team! 💚

We continued making progress at the train tracks behind Lydenburg Laerskool, where the transformation is becoming more visible every day. What was once overgrown and unsafe is slowly being turned into a cleaner, safer space for our community and especially for the many learners who use this area daily.

At the same time, we are excited to share that we have officially started a brand new project in Goodman Street behind Spar O Rama. Our team has already begun clearing overgrown grass, cleaning the area, and restoring pride to the space.

Every area we clean is about more than just appearances — it’s about safety, dignity, and creating a better environment for everyone who lives, works, and walks through our town. With the recent rise in criminal activity and house robberies, keeping open spaces maintained and visible has become more important than ever.

A huge thank you to every supporter, sponsor, volunteer, and community member who continues to stand behind We Care Lydenburg. Your support helps us keep moving forward and making a real difference where it matters most. ❤️

Our project at the train tracks behind Lydenburg Laerskool is slowly coming to an end, and we honestly cannot believe the incredible work our team has achieved. ❤️

What was once an overgrown and neglected area has been transformed into a cleaner, safer and more visible space for our community.

With the recent increase in house robberies and criminal activity in many areas, we believe it is now more important than ever to keep open spaces, fields and crossing areas clean and the grass short. Overgrown areas can easily become hiding places and create unnecessary safety risks for residents and children alike.

These train tracks are also used daily as a crossing point for many primary school learners, and we strongly believe that maintaining and cleaning this area helps improve safety and visibility for every child walking to and from school.

This project is more than just cutting grass.
It is about:
🌱 Creating safer spaces
🌱 Protecting our children
🌱 Restoring pride in our town
🌱 Showing what is possible when a community works together

🌍 WE CARE LYDENBURG – CURRENT PROJECT UPDATE 💚

Dear Lydenburg Community,

Every day we wake up with one goal in mind… to restore pride, beauty, and hope in our town. Through your support, prayers, donations, and sponsorships, we have been able to make a real difference in areas that once felt forgotten.

Today, we are proud to share that our team has now been divided into two groups so that we can continue doing even more for our community.

✨ Team One is currently working hard on touching up, maintaining, and preserving previous projects we have already completed, ensuring that the positive change remains visible and lasting.

✨ Team Two has officially begun a brand new project in Voortrekker Street – a project we are excited to reveal to you soon with progress photos and updates.

This work is only possible because of the kindness of people who care. We are not funded by any large organisation. We rely on the hearts of ordinary people who believe Lydenburg deserves better.
