Testing for COVID-19
Widespread population testing is essential for controlling the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, so the economy can re-open and life can return to normal. Identifying and isolating those with the virus helps to avoid spread of the virus. Slowing the rate of new infections reduces the number of daily cases, and lowers the overall number of cases. Effective testing and quarantine measures help ease the pressure on health services, which can quickly become overwhelmed as demand surges for respirators and other critical lifesaving equipment

Viral Tests RT-PCR (Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction)
RT-PCR tests detect the viral RNA in a sample. They reverse-translate the viral RNA to make cDNA which is then amplified by PCR, and the amplified product is then detected and interpreted for a positive or negative result.
This test can be performed on various samples (nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swabs), however recent evidence shows that saliva provides the most accurate results.

If you’re feeling symptomatic, head on over to the Weskus Mall, where you can get test, at a cost of R600 per test. Results within 24-36 hours.

As we are aware and extremely concerned about the new Covid 19 strain that the world is having to confront and manage, so we are to announce that we are putting the following measures in place.
• Screening at Kleinberg gate including register checklist, sanitisation, and temperature control for all persons seeking entry.
• Certain quarantine and isolation areas within the Kleinberg facility have been identified as suitable for quarantine and isolation purposes.
• Quarantine areas to be in place for anyone with high temp PLUS anyone travelling within the same vehicle as said person or in contact with said person, or showing Covid symptoms.
• Quarantined persons not to leave area of quarantine
• Food to be prepared and delivered to people in quarantine
• one person to occupy a room in quarantine area.
• quarantined and isolated persons are not to interact with each other
• laundry for isolation and quarantine residents to be done separately on a particular day of the week. All washing of their clothes and linen to be done above 70deg C.
• each isolated persons washing done and kept separate.
• signage to be erected on gate of isolation and quarantined units
• Face-masks on site to be worn at all times by all residents, staff and visitors.
• all other standard Covid protocol such as sanitizing etc to be monitored and controlled.
