The thermal property of the block can be increased 70% by including a polystyrene regrind material inside the hollows of the block. This can assist in reducing the internal temperature by some 8°C, providing that suitable roofing insulation is provided. NO PLASTERING REQUIRED
It is quite acceptable to point off all excess
slurry mortar from the block face and paint

e entire wall with a good quality waterproof acrylic emulsion. The removal of the plastering process eliminates an enormous amount of material and time from the building cost. KWIKBLOX building is as simple as stacking blocks on top of each other. The simplicity of its design mean that transport, production and building costs are kept to a minimum. The finished product is a very accurate, hollow-core block with its unique interlocking shape and thin bed mortar, make for a quick, easy and cost-effective building system. TRANSPORT COST ELIMINATED
Manufacturing the blocks on the building site mean that transport costs can be eliminated. It also creates the opportunity for construction in rural areas. DIFFERENT STRENGTHS
The average strength of KwikBlox is 6.2 Mpa. Different strengths ranging up to 30 Mpa can be achieved by simply using a stronger mix in the mould when the blocks are being manufactured. LESS CONSTRUCTION COST
The pace of the building process along with the fact that a lessor amount of cement is required,
results in a 40% saving in terms of vertical walling cost vs conventional brick construction. LESS ON SITE WASTAGE
No cutting or chasing of walls for servicing conduits and less cement all mean that no more than a wheel barrow load of waste is generated
through a full day of KwikBlox construction. SPEED OF CONSTRUCTION
On average an area of less than 5m² can be built in one day using conventional bricks (assuming a double skin wall). By contrast an area of 25m² can be built using the KwikBlox building system. APPLICATIONS

LESS PROCESSES
No concrete lintels are required for window and door openings less than 1.5m in width. There is no need for electrical and plumbing services to be chased into the wall, since they are placed within the cavity wall.
