It's difficult to imagine-but we are 6 weeks from spring! This is when the rains come, and not only delay any plans for repairing your pool, but make any cleanup on your pool more difficult-and therefore more expensive! Highway pools has been renovating, revamping, relining, restoring and replastering pools for the last 30 years-we do once-off cleanups, draining and acid washing, pump and filter repairs and installations, replastering, fibreglass lining, weekly servicing in the upper highway area. Owner supervised, attention to detail.

Watching the rain patter down today, I thought I would mention that billions of spores of algae enter your pool every time it rains. One of the ways to combat this is to try and prevent rainwater run-off into your pool. If you garden slopes towards your pool, your garden is going into your pool! This is the food the algae has been waiting for - nice organic nutrients from your garden! Try and find a way to prevent this from happening - and if you are feeding untreated unfiltered rainwater into your pool from the roof, the algae in your pool will love you for the plentiful supply of nutrients - bird droppings, dead insects, soil and dust, etc etc. Less "food" in your pool = less algae = less chemicals.
