In March, we will celebrate the professionals who make South Africa’s workplaces safer, healthier and cleaner every single day.

Kusasa Cleaning is proud to join ISSA-The Association for Cleaning & Facility Solutions (ISSA) and Professional Body for Environmental Hygiene (PBEH) as the professional bodies in the cleaning industry, in celebrating International Cleaning Week from 22 to 28 March 2026. More than 100 000 people are employed in South Africa’s contract cleaning sector.

Here’s why cleaning matters: studies have shown that combining surface disinfection with hand hygiene reduces virus concentrations by 85.4%, and more than 92% of clients consider cleanliness a decisive factor when choosing a repeat service provider.

“Kusasa” means tomorrow in isiZulu. We clean for today and build a better tomorrow.

We are excited to introduce two of our current interns at Kusasa Cleaning: Bathabile Shabangu and Sibongile Hlongwane.

Sibongile has experience in human resources, and is passionate about people and processes. She will be involved in recruitment, employee engagement, payroll systems and fair labour practices. Sibongile is excited to see how HR makes a real impact on the business and is loving the welcoming, high-energy team environment as she builds a strong foundation for her future in HR.

Bathabile is eager to sharpen her skills in executive support, diary and stakeholder management and operational coordination. With a keen eye for assessing how senior leadership priorities are managed, she’s already impressed by the company’s professional, collaborative culture and is ready to grow into senior-level administrative roles.

This month, our Spotlight ’n Shine focus is on Lufuno Tshiovha.

Lufuno joined Kusasa as an intern in August 2022 and has since become a key leader, currently managing our pest control division. She attributes her success to the supportive work environment and opportunities for hands-on learning, which have allowed her to gain confidence, tackle new challenges and work closely with clients. She’s also grown through stepping outside her comfort zone.

Lufuno aims to expand her impact on the business by getting more involved in the quotation process and contributing at a higher strategic level across the company.

Her journey with our proves the value of continuous learning and is a testament to her ability to adapt and take on new roles.
