Ama Buttermillion responded swiftly to a murder incident following the receipt of an emergency call from the community.
It is alleged that a young male fatally stabbed an elderly man during an altercation over a wheelbarrow.
Immediately after receiving the report, members of the Last Battalion mobilised and conducted a rapid search for the suspect.
Within approximately 20 minutes, two suspects were located and arrested while allegedly attempting to flee the area.
The suspects were taken into custody without incident and handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS), which is conducting the official criminal investigation.
The suspects will follow the due legal process, and any determination of guilt rests with the courts.
The Last Battalion commends the professionalism, courage, and dedication displayed by its members during this operation their rapid response, professionalism, and commitment to fighting crime.
This successful outcome demonstrates the value of rapid response, community cooperation, and the unwavering commitment of our officers to protecting lives and supporting law and the importance of community cooperation and the effectiveness of coordinated crime prevention efforts.
We also extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time.
