Happy Friday Tudor Gardens, bring on the rain this weekend and next week!! It looks like we're in for a decent down pour. Keep putting your grey water buckets outside for the garden boys to make use of.

Let’s all increase our water saving activities and hope that the rain will come before we have to queue for water from tanks.

THINK TWICE BEFORE FLUSHING AND OPENING A TAP, THE SITUATION IS DIRE. Watch for leaks, now that we are using grey water to flush, our main copper pipe started leaking, so we have reduced the pressure from our Main supply.

It is estimated Theewaterskloof has another month at the most, we apparently get our water from Theewaterskloof via Steenbras.

Serious winter run off only starts in August so end June and early July will be very difficult.

Call for solidarity or President Zuma to resign
Friday, April 7 2017 10am to 10.30 or later, there has been a call for Capetonians to wear Black on Friday and form a human chain along Main Road from Muizenberg to the city at 10am, to stand in solidarity with those who disagree with, using Barbara Hogan’s words, “Rogue Behaviour”. Thereafter there is a protest planned for people to meet outside parliament from Noon (OUTA), there are also statements saying meet at Kaizergracht Road next to CPUT.

Please help the gardeners water the gardens by leaving a bucket downstairs of grey water or excess water caught before your shower warms up. Every bit helps. Thanks

CITY OF CAPE TOWN
20 FEBRUARY 2017
MEDIA RELEASE

Water crisis: 129 days of useable water left

As at today, 20 February 2017, dam levels have dropped to 34,5%, which is 1,7% down from a week ago. With the last 10% of a dam’s water not being useable, dam levels are effectively at 24,5%. The latest actual consumption is 801 million litres of collective use per day. This is 101 million litres above the latest lowered water consumption target of 700 million litres per day. Read more below:

At the current draw-down rate, and with dam levels at an effective 24,5%, we could be looking at approximately 129 days of useable water left.

While the City of Cape Town thanks all of its great water-saving residents and businesses across the metro, water consumption must be lowered immediately

Email received from Peter Engles - FYI

Hi All,

I understand that there was a Con Artist operating in Kenilworth over the weekend – apparently a number of residents have been caught by a man posing as someone from the electricity dept at the City Council.

Apparently well dressed and with some impressive documentation.

I anyone has been duped or knows of a resident who has please let me know as soon as possible by email – sorry but Facebook is not my means of communication.

There are a number of private cameras in the area – we never know what we may see and catch this person.

Regards
