Level 6 Water Restrictions, what does it mean for your car?

According to the City of Cape Town Website this means
"No washing of vehicles (including taxis), trailers, caravans and boats with municipal drinking water allowed. These must be washed with non-drinking water or cleaned with waterless products or dry steam cleaning processes. This applies to all customers, including formal and informal car washes."

With this drought most people now have boreholes at their houses and using that water for cleaning cars seems like the logical thing to do, but is it? Untreated borehole water has been found to contain minerals that are harmful to your car's paint work leaving water spots that will cost you a fortune to remove.
