Why Mould Spots Leave Permanent Stains on Upholstery & Mattresses 🧫
Even after a deep clean removes the active mould, the stain itself can remain. This happens because mould doesn’t only sit on the surface, it releases pigments that dye the fibres of upholstery and mattresses. Once these pigments bond to the fabric, the discoloration becomes permanent.
So while the item may be sanitised, deodorised, and safe, the visual mark may not lift completely. Our cleaning process removes the mould, neutralises spores, and restores freshness, but some stains are simply colour damage, not dirt. It doesn’t mean the area is dirty, it means the fabric was permanently stained by mould before cleaning.
