As the sun starts to warm up🌞the flowers bloom🌺, and the days get longer, it's time to trade in your winter coat for some sunscreen🧴
But hold on, before you bask in the glory of spring let's talk about those pesky creatures that come crawling out of hiding during this time.👀

First things first, let's bid farewell to our winter buddies.👋 You know, those sneaky pests that love cozying up in your home during the cold months. The good news is that as winter fades away, so do many of these unwelcome guests.

With the arrival of warmer weather, a new cast of characters emerges to steal the spotlight.
These little troublemakers are not only irritating, but they can also wreak havoc on your health and property. Let's dive into their mischievous behavior, shall we?

First up, meet Mo the Mosquitoe 🦟
Mo is a tiny vampire 🧛 that seems to have a knack for finding every inch of exposed skin. Mo’s itchy bites can turn a relaxing evening into an itch-fest. Not to mention, he can carry diseases🦠like malaria and West Nile virus. Talk about party crashers!

Next, Alicia the ant, along with Queen Amanda 🐜and the colony are making their infamous return.
These tiny explorers are masters of teamwork, invading your kitchen like a well-coordinated army. They're relentless in their pursuit of crumbs 🍩and sweet treats🍭leaving you with a never-ending battle.

Spencer the Spider🕷making his debut appearance.
While some may argue Spencer is just misunderstood, there's no denying their ability to send shivers down your spine. From the tiny house spiders to the infamous black widows, these eight-legged creatures can make your skin crawl. 🕸

Freddy the fly 🪰
During spring and summer, Freddy the fly can be a major nuisance. Flies buzz around, irritate us, and can carry diseases. They are attracted to food, which can lead to contamination and health risks. Flies reproduce quickly, causing their population to grow rapidly.

Basking in the sun, here comes Samantha the snake 🐍
Samantha is another misunderstood character. She just goes in and out looking for food and shelter… no big deal. NOT!!
If Samantha and her venomous buddies invade your spaces, you may be in danger of potentially fatal bites. The Specialists will relocate Samatha to an area far far away from you.

Last but not least, Candice the cockroach 🪳
Candice and her family never left. You witnessed their reign of terror one too many times. 😱
These little critters are not only unsightly, but they can also trigger allergies and asthma.
With their speedy 🪳💨movements and ability to survive almost anything💪🏽they're the ultimate survivors. 🏆

Now that you know which pests are going to be basking in the warm weather with you, you know what to do.

As the season changes, so do the patterns of pest presence in the country.
Prominent winter pests forage for warmth and food supplies in human-inhabited spaces, ie. your home and business.

As per every year, cockroaches and rodents are the main stars of the show. However, this year we are experiencing a surge in cockroaches. A cockroach pandemic.
The influx of cockroaches is due to wet and humid summer weather. Transitioning into the colder months, there is always an expectation that cockroaches will be present in the home and business, but this year; it will be a cockroach catastrophe.

Prominent cockroaches that are the leaders in this country-wide infestation are the Germain cockroaches. The biggest culprit and most obvious welcome note for cockroaches are unhygienic practices in the home or business.

Leftover food and pet food left without being covered are a magnet for cockroaches. Rubbish bags that are unsecured also attract cockroaches as they feed on discarded foodstuffs. Kitchens are a mecca for cockroaches because there are a number of appliances that give off heat. The stove, the microwave, washing machines, kettles, etc are all part of the cockroach homemaker’s favourites. Bathroom basins, drain pipes, food cupboards, and outdoor drains are also part of the list.

Cockroaches thrive in the heat and humidity underneath electrical appliances where they commonly set up their breeding colonies.

To combat this infestation and other bothersome pests, some have taken it upon themselves to use pesticides in their homes and workplaces. Some pesticides are safe for use at home, but other unlabelled pesticides pose a threat to humans and pets.

Don’t play Russian Roulette trying to figure out which pesticide will eradicate the pests and not harm yours, your family’s, or your employees’ health.
